Leclanché S.A. (SIX Swiss Exchange : LECN), specialized in Lithium Ion energy storage solutions, announced today that it has received a large order from an important European customer worth CHF 12,5 million.
This long term contract is for the delivery of portable battery packs for use in ruggedized applications. The battery packs, containing standard small format Lithium Ion cells, will be produced in Yverdon and delivered between 2011 and 2015. Leclanché developed the entire concept and battery management system.
“This order is based on our long term expertise in portable battery solutions developed and assembled in Yverdon. It demonstrates our ability to design entire battery management systems and is a further confirmation and a strong signal that Leclanché is playing an important role in the Lithium Ion market segment,“ said Dr. Ulrich Ehmes, Chief Executive Officer of Leclanché.
Following our recently announced contract with Schüco for stationary systems containing large format cells from our own proprietary technology and production, this agreement proves the strong traction of Leclanché in its markets.“
