“Solar Freedom” Package Offers Low-cost Financing Solution for Going Solar

published: 2015-03-20 13:53

Dividend Solar has partnered with SolarWorld and Enphase Energy to create the Solar Freedom package, combining the companies’ services to offer a high-quality solution for going solar. This partnership is being unveiled as part of the Solarize South Carolina program, which has launched in Charleston and its neighboring communities and is rolling out across the state this spring.

Dividend Solar, the residential solar loan provider that offers the $0-down EmpowerLoan™ to homeowners, is the leading sponsor of Solarize South Carolina, a group-buy program that is accelerating the spread of solar across the Southeast. By partnering with SolarWorld and Enphase to bring together SolarWorld’s solar panels and Enphase’s microinverter system, Dividend Solar can offer an American-driven package to all South Carolinians.

“We are proud to introduce the Solar Freedom package with SolarWorld and Enphase, combining our low-cost loan financing with leading system components to create a best-in-class option for homeowners,” says Steve Michella, CEO of Dividend Solar. “Together, we can offer a one-stop solution for homeowners in South Carolina who want the peace-of-mind of hassle-free financing combined with the highest-quality systems.”

Dividend Solar’s $0-down EmpowerLoan™ includes the benefits of a solar lease or PPA – operations and maintenance, warranty management, performance guarantees and production monitoring – with the significant financial upside of solar ownership. With low-interest rates, no out-of-pocket expenses and a streamlined application process, the EmpowerLoan™ provides a simplified path to solar ownership and maximizes the economic benefits of going solar.

SolarWorld is expanding its presence in the Southeast as part of Solarize South Carolina. With 25-year warranties that created the standard for the industry, SolarWorld stands behind the quality of its panels on every installation.

Enphase is the world’s leading microinverter systems provider and recently expanded its Enphase Energy Services offering with the acquisition of the assets from Next Phase Solar to further expand its operations-and-maintenance platform. In addition to offering its products, Enphase will provide training and support to the local installers in the Solarize South Carolina program.

Solarize South Carolina is run in partnership with SmartPower, a national nonprofit that works to turbo-charge energy efficiency and renewable-energy efforts by helping local communities go solar. SmartPower operates the award-winning Solarize program in states across the U.S., and was recently awarded the “Project of Distinction Award” by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) as part of its Solarize Connecticut program.

The local utilities in South Carolina are supporting the Solarize program as well; SCE&G is a supporter of Solarize South Carolina as a way to provide additional benefits for its customers. “The work that is being done by Solarize South Carolina will give SCE&G customers another clean energy option and help to advance solar across the state as intended by the Distributed Energy Resource Program Act that was signed into law last year,” said Danny Kassis, SCE&G VP Customer Relations and Renewables.
