Sunrun, a U.S. residential solar company, has partnered with the New York Yankees to prompt residential solar systems to the baseball team’s fans. Sunrun will act as the Official Residential Solar Company of the baseball team during the 2015 baseball season and beyond, and will encourage the fans to go solar for saving up to 20% of their electric bill.
Sunrun designs, installs, insures, monitors and maintains home solar systems on a homeowner's roof, while families pay just for the electricity at a lower rate than their current utility. Under the partnership with the New York Yankees, Sunrun will have a presence throughout Yankee Stadium, including permanent signage near the Visiting Team On-Deck Circle, digital signage, entitlement of the Stadium's Terrace Rooftop Deck, a Twitter fan contest and more.
"The New York Yankees are one of the most well known sports franchises in the world and we are incredibly excited to team up with them to show homeowners in New York and across the country that switching to solar with Sunrun is easy and affordable," said Michael Grasso, Sunrun's chief marketing officer. "We look forward to bringing the Sunrun experience to more consumers at Yankee Stadium and beyond."
During select regular season home games, fans will also have the opportunity to visit a Sunrun kiosk in Yankee Stadium where consultants will be available to discuss the ease and cost savings of home solar.
