Aura II Solar PV Plant in Honduras, a 61.48MWp solar facility built by Isolux Corsan, has been started operation. The PV plant will generate 109 million kWh of clean electricity per year, equivalent to supply clean energy to more than 80,000 Honduran families, and reducing the emission into the atmosphere of 40,000 tons of CO2 annually.

The Aura II PV Plant is located in the region of Choluteca, covering an area of 145 hectares. It has a budget of nearly US$ 100 million financed from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Mexican bank Bancomext, and the German development agency DEG. The project developer is Mexican Gauss, who installed over 200,000 PV modules on single axis PV trackers.

A 20-year power purchase agreement has been signed with ENEE, electricity generated by the plant will be delivered through grid connected with the substation of Santa Lucia.
