Solar Frontier Americas, the subsidiary of the world’s leading CIS solution provider, has completed two utility-scale solar projects utilizing the company’s advanced CIS modules in Terra Haute and Brazil, Indiana, USA, respectively. Both projects sized 7MW in capacity and are now commercially operating.
Indiana is one of U.S.’s fast-growing PV markets. Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) estimates that Indiana has 150MW of solar installed and 345MW of solar to be installed over the next five years. The state also offers several renewable energy tax exemptions except federal tax credit and depreciation deductions.
Solar Frontier’s new CIS projects are both developed, owned and operated by Cypress Creek Renewables. The constructions began in October, 2015 and were put online in June, 2016. Duke Energy will purchase electricity generated from the two projects under a 20-year PPA.
