Bifacial PV panels has been winning attraction across the world’s PV markets, while most of the installations are small-scale ones. Sunpreme, a U.S.-based solar PV company, has successfully completed the construction on the world’s largest bifacial PV project in Eastern US. The 12.8MW bifacial PV project will be able to produce more than 8GWh of clean energy every year.
Sunpreme deployed its GxB370W bifacial double glass solar panels for the project. The solar panels have conversion efficiency of 21.5% and symmetrical architecture. With ultra-thin a-Si film that creates split p-i-n junction, the solar panels absorb more sunlight even under dim surroundings. Furthermore, the solar panels have a lower thermal coefficient of efficiency of -0.28% %/C, thanks to a higher Voc of 725-735 mV.

Sunpreme’s double glass modules achieve power outputs from 320W (60-cell) to 390W(72-cell) and even 510W(96-cell), making the bifacial utility-scale project is more space constrained than conventional solar projects. This solution is also ideal for systems that have very restricted rooms for installation such as rooftops.
