German company Heraeus Photovoltaics has been dedicating to development of high-efficiency metallization paste solutions for solar cells, and President Andreas Liebheit’s leadership helps the company play a significant role in PV industry. The company’s achievement has won Mr. Liebheit a recognition of being nominated Vice Chairman of Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA).
Founded in Singapore in 2011, APVIA is a non-profit organization consisting of PV related enterprises, scientific institutes and related organizations across Asia. Gongshan Zhu, the president of GCL Group, is currently the Chief Chairman of APVIA.
APVIA’s essential target is to improve and accelerate developments of the PV industry in Asia. To achieve this, the organization strives to enhance bilateral relationships between governments, industries and enterprises of different countries in Asia on policy, market, technology and financial investment. APVIA also encourages technological and economic information exchange within it.
The nomination follows Andreas Liebheit’s intensive engagement of continuously driving innovation that delivers value for customers across the board.

Focusing on PERC technology
During 2016, Heraeus unveiled metallization paste solutions for PERC technology in Shanghai and Taiwan respectively. The SOL9641A series front-side silver paste is capable of improving 0.1% conversion efficiency to PERC cells due to its ultra-fine line screen printing capabilities and conductivity brought by excellent adhesion and extension features. This solution is also compatible for monocrystalline and multicrystalline PERC cells as well as black-silicon textures.
Mr. Liebheit and his company strongly emphasize on customer relationship as all the paste solutions will be customized according to the buyers’ requirements for cell processing. In order to strengthen relations with its clients, Herasue has established R&D centers in Shanghai and Taiwan, along with paste manufacturing facilities with different capacity.
Heraeus’s strategy makes it a pioneer in new PV technologies. It manages to be at the edge of the industrial trends thanks to its close and well-maintained customer relations.
