Siliken has obtained the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MSC), which makes its PV modules suitable for any photovoltaic installation to be carried out in the United Kingdom, while end clients will be able to make use of the UK government aid and subsidy programmes. This certificate is granted by the BBA, which performed audits in Siliken’s production plants of Rafelbuñol and Casas Ibañez, Spain. The inspection organisation verified that the modules had certificates in accordance with the IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 standards, as well as the TÜV certificate.
MCS is a proof of quality and ability of the PV modules to comply with the norms and regulations required by the British government. Obtaining this certification warrants compliance with the sustainability, energy and CO₂ emission classifications of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which must be observed when building new houses. In addition, the UK government has declared the MCS certificate obligatory for products and installers to be able to benefit from the Renewable Heat Incentive programme. This scheme offers aid and subsidies to individuals, companies as well as communities that carry out renewable energy installations. The MCS certificate is acknowledged by the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) for classifying energy in British homes.
