As the latest hybrid brand of Gogoro that mixes manpower with electric power, “Gogoro Eeyo” is releasing its first product of the Eeyo 1 electric bicycle that is configured with Eeyo Smartwheel, which is expected to be available in the US, Taiwan, and Europe this summer.
Eeyo Smartwheel
Gogoro utilized the innovative design cogitation of an electric cycling rider to highly integrate a motor, batteries, multiple detectors, and smart connection function into the wheel and wheel hub of a bicycle, and in turn developed the pristine “Eeyo Smartwheel”.
Thanks to the smart power assist system, Eeyo Smartwheel uses a meticulous torsion detector to detect the rider’s treading intensity, and instantly releases treading boost to facilitate a smooth and natural ride for the rider, through a precise torsion control, power output, and speed monitoring, which not only helps the rider in preserving physical strength, but also ensures enough battery to reach to the rider’s destination. Simultaneously, the Eeyo APP connects with Eeyo Smartwheel through wireless communication technology to achieve the optimized riding experience and provide necessary riding information for the rider.
Eeyo Smartwheel is equipped with 2 power modes, a sport mode and an Eco mode, which provide different degrees of auxiliary power according to the rider’s preference, where the sport mode elevates auxiliary power, and the Eco mode extends driving distance.
Light Weight Smart Electric Bicycle Eeyo 1
The brand new electric bicycles of Eeyo 1 and Eeyo 1s are equipped with the same color of Eeyo Smartwheels, together with light weight carbon fiber frames and forks, though they have been painted with entirely different colors, as well as configured with different rims, seat posts, and handlebars.
Weighing at merely 11.9kg, Eeyo 1 integrates Eeyo Smartwheel with an exceptionally designed frame that comes without a seat tube, and the frame is made of a composite material of Kevlar and carbon fiber that reinforces rigidity and reduces weight to provide a more stable ride, whereas the forward tilting geometric design has infused a sense of speed and agility to the bicycle. As inspired by urban lifestyle, the unique design of Eeyo 1 facilitates easy single shoulder carry, as well as stress free entry in apartments, metro stations, or any areas where riding is prohibited. In addition, the components of the entire bicycle have been meticulously selected with durability as the prioritized consideration for well maintenance and even free of maintenance.
Eeyo 1 provides sufficient power for urban riders by offering approximately 65km of driving distance in the sport mode, which is equivalent to 3 days of urban commuting, whereas the Eco mode is able to increase the driving distance to more than 90km. Charging Eeyo 1 is simple, plug the cable into the rear wheel hub and you are good to go. Place your Eeyo 1 on the optional stationed charger to charge and show off your new daily partner.
Eeyo 1 is also configured with an automatic locking function, where the motor will cut off power and lock automatically when a certain distance has been created between the rider and the bicycle, in order to maintain security.
The Eeyo 1 series will officially debut in the US and Taiwan in July, and is expected to launch in Europe during summer. Eeyo 1 is priced at US$3,899 (approx. TWD$118,100), and Eeyo 1s is priced at US$4,599 (approx. TWD$139,303).
