enXco - an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company, celebrates the development and construction of the Shiloh III Wind Project with a blade signing ceremony. The 102.5 MW (installed capacity) wind project is expected to begin delivering carbon-free electricity into the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (NYSE: PCG) generation portfolio in December 2011.
The new wind project, developed and owned by enXco, stretches over 4,600 acres of farmland, 98% of which remain usable for farming and ranching, and consists of 50 REpower 2.05 MW turbines. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will purchase the power generated under a 20-year power purchase agreement providing approximately 50,000 customers with clean electricity. enXco Service Corporation will provide operations and maintenance services.

Shiloh III is the direct result of the state's support for renewable energy mandates and the federal government's recognition that renewable energy requires tax credits to level the playing field with fossil fuel based resources. In the decade since California passed the landmark Renewable Portfolio Standards in 2002, enXco has actively supported these goals through the development of 1,143 MW of wind and solar projects throughout the state. "

The official ceremony included distinguished guests California Senator Lois Wolk, California Assembly Member Mariko Yamada, California Natural Resources Agency's Deputy Secretary for Climate Change and Energy Julia Levin, and Dr. Robert Weisenmiller, Chair of the California Energy Commission as well as local officials and representatives from enXco and PG&E.
