Since the 2020 H2, more companies invest and construct new item in solar industry. According to the statistics from EnergyTrend, the expansion of cell and module capacity exceedes 200GW from July to December 2020, which includes 30 items in the cell link and 41 in the module link.
In terms of the cell, the expansion capacity will reach 214.1GW in 2020 H2, among which HJT cell will exceed 35GW. The cell expansion projects are concentrated in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Sichuan. The expansion capacity of Aikosolar, Trina Solar, Tongwei, Risen and CECEP will exceed 15GW, thereinto Aikosolar plans to construct new production line in order to form a cumulative production capacity of about 50GW high-efficiency solar cells in Yiwu.At the same time, state-owned enterprises also planed for an expansion. CECEP will erect a 20GW high-efficiency cell project in Jiangsu Gaoyou, 1st stage of which is expected put into production by the end of 2021.
The expansion capacity of module will reach 220.45GW in 2020 H2. Most projects locate in Jiangsu and Zhejiang while Vietnam and Indonesia are also the significant production base according to capacity plan. The expansion of module capacity of Canadian Solar, Trina Solar, Risen and Longi is more than 15GW. Based on the information, it is possible for most new production lines to furthering upgrede and produce 182/210mm high-power modules.
