Apple’s first electric car "Apple Car" is rumored to come out early next fall. According to supply chain personnel, Apple has recently put forward stocking requirements to Taiwanese automotive component manufacturers including Hota, BizLink, CFTC, and Fukuta in accordance with the iPhone’s pre-ordering practices, and listed relevant industry companies into its first batch of supply chains.
Apple announced in recent months that it will open a factory in the United States and begin preliminary negotiations with the global automotive electronics supply chain. Some component suppliers have pointed out that the "Apple Car" plan has been moving forward, including the poaching of R&D engineers from Tesla and other automakers to improve R&D technology and other concerns.
Some automotive component suppliers have confirmed that Apple is expected to launch its first electric car "Apple Car" in September 2022, at least 2 years earlier than the original planned launch time. Therefore, there are already numerous automotive component factories that are beginning to accelerate the pace of operations, with rumors suggesting some manufacturers have begun to relocate existing factories while others are adding new production lines.
The industry has indicated, in addition to Tesla, the leader in electric vehicles, a new term in the domestic electric vehicle supply chain has recently appeared called "U.S. Double A," which refers to Apple and Amazon. There is also news that dozens of "Apple Cars" have been secretly tested on the roads of California.
With "Apple Car" coming out ahead of schedule, shipments and business opportunities are forecast to fully explode in 2022. Taiwanese manufacturers in the automotive parts supply chain including Hota, BizLink, CFTC, and Fukuta are expected to benefit and experience "purchase order overload," necessitating active expansion of factories and capacity. In addition, the electric cargo trucks produced in partnership by Amazon and Rivian will launch in August of next year and their key supply chains are also the supply chains including Taiwanese factories.
