Talesun Solar, a subsidiary of Zhongli Group, has entered into a cooperation agreement with the government of Fuping County and its government-run subsidiary to develop a manufacturing base for PV products over the next five years. Zhongli Group made the announcement on March 23, and the story was first picked up by Chinese news outlets. Fuping is located in China’s Hebei Province.
Under the agreement, Talesun and the local subsidiary of the Fuping government will form a joint venture that will be leading the efforts in setting up production capacity for HJT cells and PV modules. According to Zhongli’s announcement, the proposed base in Fuping will have a 5GW/year production capacity for HJT cells and a 5GW/year production capacity for PV modules. The total investment in the base is set around RMB 5 billion. Additionally, Zhongli reveals a plan to develop around 5GW of agricultural PV projects with the budget of around RMB 21 billion for EPC.
