At PV EXPO 2012, most participating companies showcased their high efficiency solar cells and modules, targeting at the household solar roof market in Japan. Japanese solar market is very unique compared to those of most countries – household system takes up 80% of the market share in Japan while it is the other way around in other countries. Japan’s unique solar market mainly attributes to the government’s subsidy policies.
In addition, after the Japan earthquake, the demand for household solar system picks up further. As a result, many companies exhibited their comprehensive solar solutions at PV EXPO 2012. For instance, DelSolar, together with mother company Delta, exhibited its Kit Solution, comprised of a module, inverter and monitor system. Catering to the Japan’s special needs, the inverter was designed to be salt-proof.
Moreover, BenQ Solar not only exhibited high-efficiency solar module, electronic monitor system, but also a small-sized solar module, which only weighed 14 kilograms. Its small size makes it easy to move around and require less time and labor to install.
