TÜV Rheinland has certified the internal management system for IBC SOLAR AG, one of the world’s leading system integrators for photovoltaics. The company received certification per DIN EN ISO 9001 for quality management, DIN EN ISO 14001 for environmental management, and BS OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety.
“With the certification, we wanted to confirm our strong corporate philosophy, as well as our quality pledge,” said Udo Möhrstedt, chairman of the board and founder of IBC SOLAR AG. For this reason, the existing management processes were revised and optimized per ISO norms for quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety. Through regular scrutiny of the processes, IBC SOLAR AG increases efficiency and quality. The resulting time and cost savings can be passed on to the customer and ultimately help to increase customer satisfaction.
The auditing performed in the course of DIN EN ISO 9001 certification delivered a comprehensive assessment of the management systems at IBC SOLAR AG. The design, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and continuous review of the quality management system ensure that the system is periodically adapted to changing situations.
Furthermore, IBC SOLAR AG has oriented its environmental policy, environmental goals, and environmental program according to the international environmental management norm DIN EN ISO 14001, and has had its environmental management system certified. For many years the company has advocated the careful handling of resources, and has also developed measures for emergency preparedness. This was supplemented by IBC SOLAR AG’s certification per BS OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health- and Safety Assessment Series) which specifies strict standards for occupational safety, operational health protection, and accident prevention at companies. “As a ‘green’ company it has always been our responsibility to place great importance on occupational safety and environmental protection. The certification confirms to us that we have been on the right path so far, and helps us to continue on this path,” added Udo Möhrstedt.
The certification is valid for three years during which an annual re-certification calls for a continuous improvement process. IBC SOLAR has already received certifications for its products, such as the design and safety certifications per IEC 61215 and IEC 61730. Furthermore, IBC SOLAR periodically performs supplier audits in cooperation with SGS-TÜV in order to certify the production processes and working conditions of its suppliers. Thereby, IBC SOLAR ensures that the high quality standards are adhered to in the products and processes.
