According to Wechat Official Account @bjx-battery, this project marks Tianpeng Power's first officially operational overseas factory. Located in the Bandar Indah Industrial Park in Selangor, Malaysia, the project occupies a total area of 194,000 square meters with a total construction area of 113,000 square meters. The total capacity of the first phase is approximately 400 million cells per year.
Upon commencement of production, the project will establish an annual production capacity of 10GWh for 21/46/50 series lithium batteries. This will significantly enhance Tianpeng Lithium Battery's product supply security for overseas customers and effectively promote the development of the new energy industry in Malaysia.
It is understood that Tianpeng Power is a key subsidiary of Azure Lithium Core. In 2023, Tianpeng Power announced an investment of approximately US$280 million to build a 10GWh lithium battery production base in Selangor, Malaysia.
Tianpeng Power has accumulated 19 years of R&D and manufacturing experience in the field of cylindrical power batteries. It possesses domestically and internationally leading intelligent production lines for cylindrical lithium batteries and has a large-scale production capacity for cylindrical power lithium-ion batteries. Tianpeng Power's lithium battery products are mainly used in consumer applications such as power tools, garden tools, smart homes, smart mobility, BBU (backup power), eVTOL, and AI robots. Tianpeng Power has deep technical accumulation in the field of cylindrical batteries, especially in the application of high-rate small power lithium batteries, where it holds a leading position in the industry.
