According to Wechat Official Account @EnergyStorage001, Reliance NU Suntech, a subsidiary of India's Reliance Energy, has announced that it will build a 930-megawatt alternating current (AC) photovoltaic power generation project, which will be equipped with a 465-megawatt/1,860-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system. The project will ensure the supply of peak power for 4 hours a day and supply electricity at a fixed price of 3.53 rupees (approximately 0.042 US dollars) per kilowatt-hour.
Reliance stated that this project will become Asia's largest integrated photovoltaic and energy storage power plant at a single location and is planned to be completed and put into operation within 24 months, aiming to provide reliable power supply at a competitive price.
For the photovoltaic power plant part, with an installed capacity of 930MW, Reliance NU Suntech will install a total of over 1,700MWp photovoltaic modules on site.
According to the information, Reliance Energy is backed by India's Reliance Industries Group, which was founded in 1958 and is India's second-largest conglomerate after Tata and the country's largest private joint enterprise.
