On July 2, the Economic and Information Technology Bureau of Haining City, Zhejiang Province, announced that the project titled “Key Technologies and Complete Equipment for New Crystalline Silicon–Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells”, submitted by Astronergy, has been officially registered.
The project, categorized as a reconstruction initiative, has a planned total investment of RMB 381.1 million. According to the project registration notice, it will be located at No. 1 Jisheng Road, Jiashan New District, Haining City, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, with a total land area of 7.5 mu. The company plans to fully utilize its existing 5,000-square-meter idle factory space to carry out the construction.
Once completed, the project aims to establish a dedicated evaluation system for perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem solar cells, and simultaneously develop technical standards and protocols encompassing materials, devices, and systems, thereby forming a comprehensive tandem photovoltaic technology solution. The goal is to enable the efficient and stable fabrication of tandem solar cells. Notably, this perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem solar cell production line will be used solely for internal R&D purposes and will not generate additional output value.
The project is scheduled to begin construction in October 2025 and is expected to be completed by December 2027. Public records show that Astronergy, founded in August 2015, is a smart manufacturing enterprise under the Chint Group, specializing in photovoltaic cells and modules. Its business scope includes the manufacturing and sale of photovoltaic equipment and components, as well as technical services for solar power generation.
