Recently, the Southwest Base Project for perovskite solar cell modules, with an annual production capacity of 3GW, has stood out as a highlight in the Baisha Industrial Park Development Center. The project has completed an investment of RMB 140 million, reaching 46.43% of its planned investment, making it the primary driving force behind the park's accelerating investment growth.
With a total planned investment of RMB 5 billion and covering 260 mu (approximately 17.3 hectares), this flagship project has entered the fast lane of full-scale construction. Currently, 25% of the site excavation and foundation piling work has been completed, laying a solid groundwork for the subsequent main construction phase. Upon completion, the project is expected to become the largest perovskite solar cell production base in Southwest China and rank among the leading mass production sites nationwide.
“As the core area supporting Chongqing’s new energy industry, this district is leveraging the project as a strategic pivot to drive comprehensive industrial upgrading,” said a representative from the center. Going forward, Baisha Industrial Park will continue to focus on key new energy enterprises such as Wujun, Heyou, and Zhongneng Photovoltaic & Storage, actively attracting supporting upstream and downstream projects to settle, commence construction, and begin production. The aim is to build a complete new energy industry cluster encompassing photovoltaic cells, modules, inverters, junction boxes, EVA films, mounting systems, frames, energy storage batteries, and integrated solar-storage-charging power stations—enhancing the market competitiveness of the district’s new energy sector and further advancing the development of Chongqing’s new energy industry.
