Recently, battery energy storage projects from companies including SEVC POWER, Shangtai Technology, Jinche Energy Storage, and Jing Tian Industrial have been intensively launched. These projects cover fields such as solid-state batteries, lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and anode materials, signaling an accelerated pace in both industrial construction and technological transformation.
0.5 GWh Solid-State Battery Project (Phase I) Begins Production
On November 10, the launch ceremony for the Sichuan SEVC POWER Technology Co., Ltd. Solid-State Battery Project (Phase I) was held in Yibin Changjiang Industrial Park, Sichuan.
The Phase I project marks the engineering realization of a high-security battery developed and incubated at Academician Ouyang Minggao's Workstation in Yibin. The project has a total investment of 3 billion RMB, a planned capacity of 4 GWh, and covers an area of 166 acres. The initial 0.5 GWh high-security battery production line is now complete and operational.
This project is engineered based on the intrinsic safety electrolyte in-situ polymerization technology and can supply high-security battery products with an energy density of up to 360 Wh/kg. Currently, the products are being supplied in bulk to leading electric aviation enterprises, with application scenarios spanning the low-altitude economy, robotics, and other sectors, demonstrating broad market prospects.
Shangtai Technology Plans to Invest in 200,000-Ton Lithium-Ion Battery Anode Material Project
On the evening of November 10, Shangtai Technology announced that it intends to sign a project investment and development agreement with the Shanxi Transformation Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone Management Committee to invest in and construct a 200,000-ton per year lithium-ion battery anode material project.
The total investment for the project is preliminarily estimated at 4.07 billion RMB (including working capital), which will be sourced from the company's own funds or self-raised capital.
Concurrently, Shangtai Technology also released a fundraising announcement, planning to issue convertible bonds to unspecified investors to raise funds for the construction of this project, with the total amount not exceeding 1.734 billion RMB.
The project has a planned construction period of 18 months and involves building new production plants, power distribution rooms, offices, and living quarters. It will include the purchase and installation of equipment such as crushers, pulverizers, coating autoclaves, carbonization units, and high-temperature modification furnaces, along with supporting public auxiliary works for power, gas, and water supply.
18 GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Project Relaunched
On the same day, the 18 GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Development and Industrialization Project by Gansu Jinche Energy Storage Battery Technology Co., Ltd. held its strategic transformation relaunch ceremony. This marks the project's official departure from its original lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology route and a complete transition into the new phase of sodium-ion battery development and production.
The project has a total investment of 6.115 billion RMB and is being constructed by China Construction Seventh Engineering Division Fourth Company. It will be built in two phases, establishing production lines for 18 GWh of sodium-ion batteries and their PACKs.
Originally, the project was launched as an 18 GWh LFP battery storage project by Jinche Energy Storage Battery Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Gansu Yinie Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. However, in light of the recent fluctuations in the LFP battery market and the window for capacity adjustment, the project successfully completed its technological route transition from LFP to sodium-ion batteries after nearly a year of technical research and preparation.
Updates on the 2 GWh New Battery Production Base Construction Project
Recently, the New Battery Production Base Project, invested in and constructed by Jing Tian Industrial Co., Ltd., is advancing rapidly.
The project has initiated construction for seven separate buildings, with Factory Building No. 5 being the first to enter the main structure construction phase. The remaining structures are currently undergoing foundation work. The goal is to complete the main structure construction before the Chinese New Year and strive for full production launch by May of next year.
The total investment for the project reaches 420 million RMB, covering an area of 120 acres. Upon launch, it will establish a modern factory integrating R&D, manufacturing, and PACK. The initial capacity is planned to reach 2 GWh, with the goal of creating a digital benchmark factory for new-type lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries.
