Since November, multiple new energy battery and materials projects across China have accelerated their progress. These include the signing and landing of the 20 GWh sodium-ion battery project in Suining, Sichuan; the Jinlongyu solid-state battery materials project in Huizhou entering the approval stage; the rapid construction of the 4 GWh lithium battery project by Hubei Yijia Tong Technology Co., Ltd. in Hubei; and the steady advancement of Gaiya New Energy’s 3 GWh large cylindrical lithium (sodium) battery base in Zhejiang. The industry chain continues to speed up its capacity expansion.
Guangde Qingna Signs 20 GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Production Project
On November 20, Guangde Qingna Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed an agreement for its 20 GWh sodium-ion battery production project, confirming its settlement in the Suining Economic and Technological Development Zone in Sichuan Province.
The project involves a total investment of RMB 6 billion and will build a 20 GWh sodium-ion battery production line. Once completed, it will form synergistic effects with existing sodium-ion battery industrial chain projects in the zone.
Jinlongyu Solid-State Battery Materials Project Enters Approval Phase
On November 17, the Huizhou Ecology and Environment Bureau released a public notice accepting the environmental review materials for the solid-state battery materials project of Jinlongyu New Energy (Huidong) Co., Ltd., marking the project’s official entry into the approval stage.
Located in Baihua Town, Huidong County of Huizhou City, the project is invested and constructed by Jinlongyu New Energy (Huidong) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary controlled by Jinlongyu Group. It mainly focuses on the production of solid-state battery materials, with planned annual output including:
• 1,550 tons of coated separators for lithium-ion batteries,
• 10,000 tons of lithium manganese iron phosphate cathode material,
• 1,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode material, and
• 3,000 tons of solid-state electrolyte (of which approximately 90% will be sold externally and 10% for self-use).
Hubei Yijia Tong 4 GWh Lithium Battery Project Reports New Progress
Recently, construction of Hubei Yijia Tong Technology Co., Ltd.’s 4 GWh industrial power lithium battery cell and PACK production line project has been progressing at full speed.
With a total investment of RMB 2 billion, the project is located in Laohekou City, Xiangyang, Hubei Province. Foundation piles and ground beams for the cell production plant have all been completed; the steel structure of Area A has been finished, with approximately 2,000 square meters of roof panels installed, while Area B’s steel structure has reached 40% completion. Foundation piles for the PACK plant, finished cell warehouse, and power plant have also been completed, with cap and foundation beam works advancing in parallel.
Gaiya New Energy’s 3 GWh Large Cylindrical Lithium (Sodium) Battery Project Advances
Gaiya New Energy Co., Ltd. is accelerating construction of its new 3 GWh energy-storage-oriented large cylindrical lithium (sodium) battery manufacturing project. Currently, four factory buildings are being constructed simultaneously, with nearly 90% of the main structural work completed. The buildings are expected to be fully topped out by the end of November and equipment commissioning is scheduled to begin in March next year.
The project is located in Suichang County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, with a total investment of approximately RMB 346 million. It is planned to be built in three phases. Phase I includes 3 GWh of lithium (sodium) battery manufacturing capacity, consisting of new cell production workshops, system integration workshops, chemical storage facilities, supporting buildings, a comprehensive office building, and surrounding landscaping.
