Recently, CATL, Tesla, Jinko Energy Storage, and Maymuse Energy Storage have consecutively secured new orders in Japan, Australia, and the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region, covering grid-scale energy storage, wind-storage projects, and vanadium flow batteries.
CATL Wins 2.4 GWh Energy Storage Order in Japan
Recently, CATL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with subsidiaries of Marubeni Corporation—Marubeni Power Retail and Sun Village—announcing that the three parties will jointly advance a total of 2.4 GWh of grid-scale energy storage projects in Japan.
Under the cooperation framework, the parties will leverage their respective strengths and clearly define roles: Sun Village will be responsible for project development and facility construction; CATL will supply energy storage batteries and participate in partial equity investment in the project; Marubeni Power Retail will manage the operation of the storage facilities.
By integrating the three companies’ expertise in energy storage technology, project development, and energy operation, the initiative aims to accelerate the commercialization and large-scale implementation of grid-scale energy storage projects in Japan.
Tesla Secures Another 600 MWh Energy Storage Order in Australia
Tesla recently confirmed that it has secured another major energy storage order. TagEnergy will deploy 168 Tesla Megapack 2 XL battery systems at the Golden Plains Wind Farm in Victoria, Australia.
The project has a scale of 150 MW/600 MWh, with a storage duration of 4 hours. Construction is expected to commence in early 2026 and be completed by mid-2027.
In addition, Tesla will provide grid-tied inverters for the project. These inverters feature high conversion efficiency and stable performance, further enhancing the operational reliability and economic benefits of the entire energy storage system.
Jinko Energy Storage Signs 25 MWh Project in MEA
On November 19, Jinko Energy Storage announced that it had signed an agreement to deploy a 25 MWh energy storage project in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
The project will adopt Jinko’s centralized SunTera G2 5 MWh energy storage system to provide critical support to the local grid, helping build a more resilient and sustainable power infrastructure.
Maymuse Energy Storage Signs Vanadium Flow Battery Order in Australia
Recently, Jiangsu Maymuse Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (Maymuse), AVFlow Energy Pty Ltd, and Powra Pty Ltd formally signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly advance a vanadium redox flow battery clean energy project in Australia, accelerating the commercialization and local deployment of this technology.
This collaboration integrates the core strengths of the three parties:
Maymuse: Focused on the R&D and manufacturing of vanadium flow battery stacks, materials, and battery management systems;
AVFlow: Responsible for market development in Australia, liaison with government and academic institutions, local operations, and project delivery;
Powra: Provides grid integration, EMS/SCADA/PPC control systems, power system testing, and engineering/EPC execution capabilities.
According to the agreement, Australia will serve as the initial key market, with plans to gradually expand into the Asia-Pacific region and globally. The three companies aim to establish a long-term cooperation framework to jointly promote the market adoption of vanadium flow battery projects.
