Recently, companies such as Zhiguang Electric, Sungrow, and CATL have consecutively announced major energy storage contracts, covering domestic integrated source-grid-load-storage projects, large-scale “PV + storage” projects in Chile, and high-voltage energy storage systems in Japan. These multiple high-profile deals highlight the competitiveness of China’s energy storage industry in the global market and its accelerated expansion.
Zhiguang Electric Signs RMB 150 Million Sales Contract
On the evening of November 25, Zhiguang Electric disclosed voluntary information regarding a new customer order. According to the announcement, the company’s subsidiary, Inner Mongolia Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., recently signed a Sales Contract with Inner Mongolia Chuangyuan Keyou New Energy Co., Ltd.
The contract covers Chuangyuan Keyou’s purchase of a high-voltage cascade networking-type energy storage system from Zhiguang Electric. The specific project is titled “Inner Mongolia Chuangyuan Keyou Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration (Phase III) High-Voltage Cascade Networking-Type Energy Storage Project.” The total contract value is approximately RMB 150 million.
Sungrow Wins Over 2 GWh Storage Order in Chile
Recently, Sungrow achieved a major breakthrough in Chile, securing a large-scale “PV + storage” integrated project—the Dune Plus Project.
The project is located in the Antofagasta region, with a total investment of USD 629 million. It consists of two main parts: the first is the Dune BESS storage system, colocated with the existing CEME1 PV plant, with a capacity of 333 MW / 1,334 MWh; the second is the newly added La Pampina hybrid project, which includes a 186 MW PV plant and a 175 MW / 702 MWh storage system.
Sungrow will serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) general contractor, provide a complete battery energy storage system (BESS) solution, and take responsibility for the long-term service agreement (LTSA). The company is expected to deliver 406 battery container units, which will be equipped with its advanced PowerTitan energy storage system.
This system will provide reliable power to the copper miner Codelco. The parties have signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA), under which 1 TWh of renewable energy will be delivered annually.
CATL Secures 1 GWh Energy Storage System Order in Japan
Recently, CATL signed an energy storage system supply agreement with Tokyo-based AI.net, covering 1 GWh.
Under the agreement, CATL will provide 705.5 kWh TENER Flex units, primarily for the construction of AI.net’s 2 MW / 8 MWh energy storage system and the development of high-voltage equipment for multiple storage sites in Japan.
