China’s new energy battery industry has recently witnessed two significant advancements. Zhejiang Hongxin Lithium Battery’s 5.6 GWh lithium battery manufacturing project has successfully passed its environmental impact assessment, while BYD’s subsidiary, FinDreams Battery, has launched a new energy industrial project in Zhijiang, Hubei Province, further strengthening the local power battery and energy-storage industry chain.
Hongxin Lithium Battery’s 5.6 GWh Project Passes Environmental Review
On December 2, the Tongxiang Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau announced that the 5.6 GWh lithium battery manufacturing base project of Zhejiang Hongxin Lithium Battery Co., Ltd. had passed its environmental impact assessment.
The project is located in Longxiang Industrial Park, Wuzhen Town, with a total investment of RMB 1 billion, including RMB 14 million dedicated to environmental protection. Upon completion, the facility will reach an annual production capacity of 5.6 GWh of new-energy lithium batteries.
The project involves the acquisition of 129.64 mu of new land, the construction of 148,120 m² of new buildings, and the procurement of key equipment such as one cathode slurry preparation system, one anode slurry preparation system, two double-layer cathode coating machines, and two double-layer anode coating machines.
According to corporate registry information, Hongxin Lithium Battery was established on April 27, 2025. Its legal representative is Jiang Bin, and the company has a registered capital of RMB 50 million. It is jointly held by Changxing Zhuoneng Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Narada Power, with shareholding ratios of 80% and 20% respectively.
BYD’s New Energy Industrial Project Lands in Zhijiang, Hubei
On the morning of December 1, FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of BYD Group, held a signing ceremony for its new energy industrial project in Zhijiang, Hubei.
The signing marks an important step toward strengthening and expanding Zhijiang’s new-energy industrial chain, injecting strong momentum into the city’s efforts to extend, supplement, and cluster its industrial ecosystem.

On December 1, BYD announced that its installed capacity of power batteries and energy-storage batteries reached approximately 27.669 GWh in November. For the year to date in 2025, total installed capacity has reached about 258.282 GWh.
