In recent days, several leading module manufacturers have secured major orders. LONGi has officially signed an agreement with EDF to supply 404 MW of high-efficiency BC modules for the Longfield solar project in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, CHINT Electric announced that it expects to procure up to RMB 3.5 billion worth of modules from its affiliated company Astronergy in 2026. On the same day, Astronergy also won the bid for China Huadian’s 390 MW fishery-solar hybrid project in Jiangsu at a unit price of RMB 0.74/W.
LONGi Signs Agreement to Supply 404 MW of Modules to France’s EDF
Recently, LONGi and EDF Power Solutions, a subsidiary of Électricité de France (EDF), officially signed an agreement confirming the supply of 404 MW of high-efficiency Hi-MO 9 BC modules for the Longfield solar project in the United Kingdom.
The project is not only EDF’s largest solar power plant in the UK to date but also marks a major milestone for the large-scale deployment of LONGi’s BC technology in overseas utility-scale solar projects.
Astronergy Receives RMB 3.5 Billion Annual Procurement Order
On December 9, Zhejiang CHINT Electrics Co., Ltd. issued an announcement disclosing its expected 2026 procurement plans for photovoltaic modules from affiliated parties. According to the announcement, CHINT Electrics and its subsidiaries plan to procure modules from Astronergy and its subsidiaries in 2026, with an estimated total transaction amount not exceeding RMB 3.5 billion.
The expected procurement amount represents an increase from the previous year. The cap for such related-party transactions in 2025 was set at RMB 3 billion, with actual transactions reaching approximately RMB 1.975 billion by the end of October 2025. Regarding pricing, the transactions will follow market-based principles, using centralized bidding processes or negotiations between the parties. For procurements involving CHINT Aneng, pricing will be based on the winning bid results of competitive tenders.
The announcement also notes that CHINT New Energy and CHINT Electrics are both controlled by the CHINT Group, and the transaction therefore constitutes a related-party transaction. CHINT Electrics stated that Astronergy, as a manufacturer of solar cells and modules, possesses strong technological capabilities. The cooperation aims to meet the company’s operational needs and ensure stable supply-chain performance. The proposal has been approved by the board of CHINT Electrics and will be submitted to the shareholders' meeting for final approval.
On the same day, the winning bidder for the photovoltaic module procurement of the 390 MW fishery-solar hybrid project—developed by CCCC Fourth Engineering Bureau (Xiong’an) New Energy Construction Co., Ltd. for China Huadian in Yancheng, Jiangsu—was announced. Astronergy won the bid at a price of approximately RMB 378 million, equivalent to RMB 0.74/W. The project’s AC-side capacity is 390 MW, while its DC-side capacity totals approximately 510.6 MWp.
