Recently, four companies—Zoolnasm Energy, BYD, Samsung SDI, and Kenano Clean Energy—have successively won overseas energy storage orders. The technical routes involved cover sodium-ion batteries, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, and other technologies.
Zoolnasm Energy Secures Multiple Overseas Energy Storage Orders
Recently, Hangzhou Chuna Energy Technology, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zoolnasm Energy, has secured multiple overseas energy storage orders, covering diverse scenarios including commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage, microgrids, and residential energy storage.
In the African market, Zoolnasm Energy's storage solutions are helping enhance the stability of the microgrid system at the fishing port in Sierra Leone. In the Asian market, Zoolnasm reached a cooperation agreement with Korean customer SPSI for sodium-ion residential energy storage.
In the European market, Zoolnasm Energy won an energy storage project order from British customer HYPOWER. The sodium iron sulfate batteries developed by Zoolnasm Energy maintain a capacity retention rate of over 90% at -20℃, making them suitable for use in cold regions of Europe. Currently, the cooperative projects are progressing smoothly and are scheduled for mass delivery soon.
BYD Signs Overseas Marine Energy Storage System Partnership
BYD Energy Storage and Corvus Energy AS (Corvus) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership.
By combining BYD Energy Storage's scale advantages and technology in the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery field with Corvus Energy's professional expertise in marine energy storage system applications, the two parties will work together to accelerate product research and development and expand global market coverage.
It is reported that Corvus Energy will serve as the energy storage system partner and market channel partner.
Over RMB 9.6 Billion: Samsung SDI Signs Major LFP Storage Deal
On the evening of December 9, Samsung SDI announced that its U.S. subsidiary had signed an LFP energy storage battery order with an American customer. The contract value exceeds 2 trillion Korean Won (approximately RMB 9.62 billion), with supplies scheduled to continue for three years starting in 2026.
The LFP cells supplied by Samsung SDI will be installed in the Battery Storage System Solution SBB 2.0, a 20-foot containerized energy storage system. Notably, SBB 2.0 is Samsung SDI's first energy storage system to use prismatic LFP batteries.
SDI stated that the supplied prismatic LFP batteries will be manufactured through the modification of existing production lines at Samsung SDI's U.S. factory. Previously, Samsung SDI co-built and operated a power battery factory with Stellantis to address the demands of the U.S. electric vehicle market. Currently, to meet the changing local demands in the U.S., SDI has converted some of its power battery production lines to produce energy storage batteries.
Kenano Signs Energy Storage Project Cooperation Agreement with MAPS in the Middle East
Recently, Jiangsu Kenano Clean Energy signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement for an energy storage project with Middle Eastern customer MAPS.
Jiangsu Kenano Clean Energy is a company focused on energy storage project development and solution provision. According to the agreement, the two parties will engage in in-depth cooperation in areas such as large-scale energy storage power station construction, distributed energy storage system development, and energy management technology exchange, jointly exploring energy storage solutions suitable for the local energy structure and market needs.
