EnergyTrend learned that the energy storage market has been experiencing a continuous boom recently. Companies including Trina Storage, Tesla and Time United have successively secured major energy storage orders, with contract signing, project implementation and delivery processes accelerating at a fast pace.
Trina Storage Secures Another 1.4 GWh Energy Storage Order in North America
On December 16, Trina Solar issued an announcement stating that Trina Energy Storage Solutions US Inc., a subsidiary of its holding company Trina Storage, recently signed an energy storage product sales contract with clients in North America, with a total scale of 1.4 GWh.
It is reported that the energy storage project will adopt the Elementa2Pro liquid-cooled energy storage system, paired with a new-generation PCS, to build a 4-hour standalone grid-connected energy storage solution. It will also integrate a full set of hardware and software EMS provided by a local North American software supplier, forming a complete AC-side integrated solution. Delivery and grid connection are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
Tesla to Supply 2.3 GWh for Australia’s Largest Energy Storage Project
Recently, Neoen, a global renewable energy developer and operator, announced in Queensland that Phase II of the Western Downs Battery project has been officially completed, with Phase III construction kicking off simultaneously.
Located in Queensland, the Western Downs Battery project is part of Neoen’s Western Downs Green Power Hub energy cluster. Since its launch, the combined capacity of Phase I and Phase II has reached 540 MW/1080 MWh and is now connected to the grid and operational. Phase III will add 305 MW/1220 MWh, with commissioning expected in the summer of 2027/2028.
According to disclosures, Tesla will supply the Megapack 2XL system for Phase III of the Western Downs project. The project will adopt a 4-hour energy storage configuration and install 312 Tesla Megapack 2XL units. Upon completion, the total capacity of the Western Downs Battery will reach 845 MW/2300 MWh, making it one of the largest standalone energy storage facilities in Australia to date.
Time United Secures 500 MW Order from European Client
Recently, Hunan Time United New Energy Co., Ltd. announced that a technical team from its European client visited the company and conducted a one-week in-depth inspection and technical docking.
Following the inspection, the European client reached an immediate long-term cooperation intention with Time United, locking in a 500 MW order for 2026. Meanwhile, the two parties reached a consensus on the layout of a dual aqueous process production line for lithium iron phosphate batteries in Europe within the next two years, further cementing their cooperation.
