Recently, the energy storage market has been delivering a steady stream of positive developments, with several industry leaders securing high-profile contracts. Jinko ESS Successfully Delivers a 15 MWh Energy Storage Project in Senegal
Recently, Jinko ESS achieved a major breakthrough in the West African energy market by successfully delivering a total of 15 MWh of its SunGiga Dolphin liquid-cooled energy storage systems to Senegal.
The equipment will be deployed across 45 remote villages within the country, primarily to support the construction of distributed, off-grid microgrid projects.
Canadian Solar’s Energy Storage Business Secures a 408 MWh Order in South Australia
On December 17, Canadian Solar’s energy storage subsidiary reached a cooperation agreement with Vena Energy, a leading independent renewable energy developer in the Asia-Pacific region. Under the agreement, Canadian Solar will supply 408 MWh of energy storage systems, along with long-term operation and maintenance services, for Vena Energy’s “Tailem Bend 3” solar-plus-storage project.
The project is located in South Australia and has a total installed capacity of 204 MW/408 MWh. Construction has already commenced, and the project is scheduled to enter commercial operation in 2027.
According to the agreement, Canadian Solar will act as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) turnkey solution provider, working closely with Vena Energy and its power plant infrastructure partner, Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd (CPP). Canadian Solar will deliver approximately 100 units of its latest self-developed SolBank 3.0 energy storage systems for the project.
This marks the fourth large-scale energy storage system order secured by Canadian Solar in Australia. To date, the company’s cumulative delivered and under-construction project capacity in the Australian market has exceeded 2 GWh.
CRRC Signs RMB 16.65 Billion in Wind Power and Energy Storage Equipment Sales Contracts
On December 18, CRRC released an announcement on the signing of contracts, stating that the company and its subsidiaries had recently (mainly between September and December 2025) entered into several major contracts with a total value of approximately RMB 53.31 billion.
Among these, CRRC subsidiaries signed wind power equipment sales contracts and energy storage equipment sales contracts totaling approximately RMB 16.65 billion with China Power Engineering Consulting Group Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited, China Resources New Energy (Yiwu) Co., Ltd., Zhonglü Power (Ruoqiang) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., and Inner Mongolia Energy Group Huade Electric Storage New Energy Co., Ltd., among others.
