On December 22, EVE Energy officially broke ground on its “EVE Sodium Energy Headquarters and Jinyuan Robotics AI Center” project in the Zhongkai High-Tech Zone of Huizhou, Guangdong Province.
The project aims to accelerate the deployment of next-generation energy storage technologies and the intelligent upgrading of manufacturing by integrating sodium-ion battery research, development, and mass production with AI-driven robotics technologies.
In the sodium-ion battery segment, the newly launched EVE Sodium Energy headquarters project involves a total investment of approximately RMB 1 billion and is planned with a total gross floor area of about 90,000 square meters. The project is positioned as a comprehensive innovation platform integrating “R&D, pilot-scale testing, and mass production,” with a planned annual production capacity of 2 GWh.
At the same time, the project will focus on the development of “non-traceable” and “non-combustible” sodium-ion battery products. Leveraging advantages such as a wide operating temperature range, high power capability, long cycle life, and enhanced safety, EVE Energy aims to build a new generation of energy storage technology that is deeply symbiotic with the Earth’s ecosystem, safe, and sustainable over the long term.
In terms of application scenarios, the sodium-ion batteries produced by the project will primarily serve AIDC data centers, providing power supply and energy storage solutions to address the increasingly dynamic load fluctuations and stability requirements of data center operations.
Beyond the sodium-ion battery business, the project also includes the Jinyuan Robotics AI Center. On one hand, AI technologies will be comprehensively applied to drive intelligent upgrades across lithium battery manufacturing. On the other hand, the construction of ultra-large-scale lithium battery production facilities will, in turn, provide real-world manufacturing scenarios to accelerate the iterative development of AI-powered products.
