As the year draws to a close, the new energy industry track continues to heat up, with major projects intensively signing contracts and kicking off production across multiple regions in China, bringing a flurry of positive developments. According to EnergyTrend, the accelerated deployment of multi-segment projects – ranging from energy storage battery production lines, sodium-ion battery anode material bases, to energy storage equipment manufacturing and overseas battery plants – involves a total investment of over several billion RMB.
GEP New Energy Project Signed and Settled in Tongshan District
On December 24, a signing ceremony was held between Tongshan District and GEP New Energy for the 5GWh Smart Energy Storage Integrated Production Line + 1GWh New-type Battery Production Line Project.
With a total investment of over 1 billion RMB, the GEP New Energy project signed this time will be constructed in two phases. Upon completion, it will form a complete industrial chain covering material R&D, battery manufacturing and energy storage system integration. It is expected that the annual revenue of Phase I will reach 1 billion RMB when operating at full capacity.
It is learned that this cooperation represents a pivotal step for GEP in its major transformation in the field of new energy materials and battery technologies, and also marks the enterprise’s first large-scale manufacturing project layout.
10GWh Energy Storage Battery Production Base Put into Operation in Anhui
On December 20, the 10GWh energy storage battery production base of Guoke Energy was officially put into operation in Yingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Anqing City, Anhui Province.
The energy storage battery production base put into operation this time is affiliated to Anhui Guoke Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The project was signed and settled in September 2023 and started construction in January 2024, with a plan to build an intelligent manufacturing base with an annual output of 10GWh energy storage batteries and systems.
Previously disclosed information indicated that the battery production base will further advance the Phase II capacity expansion in the future. After all phases reach full production capacity, the expected annual output value will exceed 5 billion RMB.
RMB 450 Million Sodium-ion Battery Anode Material Base Settled in Hubei
Recently, the headquarters of Tianna Technology, which is specially invested by the Industrial Fund of Yangtze New Area, settled in Wuhan Yangtze New Area, Hubei Province. The Phase I of the project plans a total investment of RMB 450 million, and will construct a 10,000-ton annual output industrialization base for sodium-ion battery anode materials, together with the enterprise headquarters and R&D center.
Founded in 2017, Tianna Technology owns four major production bases in Lujiang, Fuyang, Datong and Suining. At present, the company has launched a variety of hard carbon materials with different precursors, and its products can be widely applied to end-use sectors including energy storage, small power batteries, start-stop batteries, UPS, communication base stations, engineering vehicles, A0-class passenger cars and electric ships.
RelyEZ Energy's Large-scale Professional Energy Storage Equipment Manufacturing Project Settled
According to the official release of Tongxiang City, RelyEZ Energy's large-scale professional energy storage equipment manufacturing project was officially signed and settled in Wuzhen, Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province recently.
As introduced, RelyEZ Energy is an enterprise focusing on the design, R&D, manufacturing and system integration of intelligent lithium battery energy storage systems, with an annual output value of 2.5 billion RMB. The project deployed in Wuzhen of Tongxiang will achieve an annual production capacity exceeding 10GWh upon full operation.
Data shows that RelyEZ Energy was established in 2019, and its business covers diverse application scenarios including new energy power generation, wind-solar-diesel-storage integration, microgrids, power energy storage, as well as industrial & commercial and residential energy storage.
RMB 246 Million: Changhong Energy's Thailand Battery Plant Put into Operation
On December 22, Changhong Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Changhong Holding Group, was officially put into operation in the industrial park of Chonburi Province in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). This marks a crucial step for Changhong Energy's global layout, with its business footprint further expanded to Southeast Asia.
Specializing in the R&D and production of high-performance alkaline batteries, the plant involves a total investment of RMB 246 million. The first phase plans a total construction area of 38,000 square meters with 5 intelligent production lines for high-end alkaline batteries, covering a full range of alkaline battery products such as AA, AAA, C, D and 9V types.
