Recently, Trina Storage and Tianneng Group have separately signed agreements for gigawatt-hour (GWh) scale projects in Europe and Southeast Asia.
Trina Storage has officially signed an agreement with the Irish renewable energy developer Aer Soléir to construct the 250MW/1000MWh Rondissone Energy Storage Plant in the Turin region of Italy. Having successfully secured a contract in the Italian Capacity Market Auction for 2027, this initiative stands as one of the largest battery energy storage projects currently in Europe.
Under the terms of the agreement, Trina Storage will supply its next-generation Elementa 2 Pro liquid-cooled battery energy storage system. This will be integrated with advanced Power Conversion Systems (PCS), medium-voltage skids, and Power Plant Controllers (PPC).
Furthermore, the company will deliver a comprehensive "one-stop" service covering the project's entire lifecycle. This includes a 20-year Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) encompassing preventive and corrective maintenance, spare parts management, 24/7 remote technical support, extended warranty services, and system performance guarantees.
In the Southeast Asian market, Tianneng Group has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with the Nasdaq-listed VCI Global Limited (VCIG). The two parties will jointly advance the construction of a 1GWh Artificial Intelligence Data Center (AIDC) solar-plus-storage power plant project in the state of Melaka, Malaysia.
The first phase of the project is planned to cover approximately 600 acres, featuring 250MW of solar photovoltaic facilities alongside a supporting liquid-cooled energy storage system. The collaboration intends to adopt an "EPC+F" (Engineering, Procurement, Construction + Finance/Facilitation) model, leveraging the local "CRESS" (Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme) policy to facilitate the direct signing of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) between the power plant and data centers.
Once completed, the project will primarily supply zero-carbon electricity to Artificial Intelligence Data Centers (AIDC), addressing the energy consumption challenges posed by surging computing power demands. Currently, the project has secured access to local 275kV substation resources in Malaysia and is accelerating substantive construction efforts.
