Several energy storage enterprises have recently disclosed significant progress in both domestic and international markets. Zhiguang Electric’s subsidiary has signed a procurement contract worth RMB 210 million, Tianjin Electric has secured an order to supply a 45MW/45MWh storage system in Indonesia, and Canadian Solar’s e-STORAGE has completed the delivery of its first 2MW/8.25MWh grid-connected project in Japan.
Zhiguang Electric Signs RMB 210 Million Energy Storage Equipment Procurement Contract
On February 13, Zhiguang Electric announced that its holding subsidiary, Guangzhou Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., recently signed a "Procurement Contract" with PowerChina Hebei Electric Power Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. According to the announcement, the total contract value is RMB 210 million, and the subject of the transaction is energy storage equipment.
Regarding the impact of this contract signing, Zhiguang Electric noted that the business involved falls within the company’s core operations. If the contract is fulfilled smoothly, it is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s financial position and operating performance for the current year and future years.
Tianjin Electric Signs Contract for Energy Storage System Supply Project in Indonesia
Recently, Tianchuan Smart Microgrid Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tianjin Electric Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Tianjin Electric), officially signed a supply contract for an islanded grid energy storage system within a large industrial park in Indonesia. The project capacity is set at 45MW/45MWh.
As a supporting engineering component for the local newly built power system, the energy storage system is designed to operate in synergy with the park's three existing 350MW coal-fired power generation units. It is reported that the project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026.
Canadian Solar Delivers 2MW/8.25MWh Energy Storage Project in Japan
Recently, e-STORAGE, the energy storage subsidiary of Canadian Solar, successfully delivered its first grid-connected battery energy storage system (BESS) in Sapporo, Japan. The project features a rated power of 2MW and a total capacity of 8.25MWh.
At the core of the project is e-STORAGE’s proprietary SolBank energy storage platform. The equipment arrived at the site in September 2025, and grid-connection commissioning began in December of the same year. Once operational, the system will participate in trading on the Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX) and the balancing market. e-STORAGE was responsible for the overall delivery of the project and will provide operations and maintenance (O&M), inspections, and battery disposal services compliant with local regulations throughout the project's lifecycle.
