According to EnergyTrend, on February 13,CATL Chery (Hefei) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was officially established.The company has a legal representative, Lai Yongjie, with a registered capital of RMB 2 billion, and its registered address is located in Juchao Private Economic Park, Chaohu City, Hefei City, Anhui Province.
As shown in the shareholder information from Qcc,the new company is jointly held by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., and Chery Commercial Vehicle (Anhui) Co., Ltd.,with shareholdings of 51%, 42.33%, and 6.67% respectively.
The business scope of the new company covers core fields including battery manufacturing, production of battery parts and components, battery sales, sales of battery parts and components, and energy storage technology services,which precisely matches the core demands of the new energy vehicle industry.
Notably, combined with energy storage technology services—one of the core businesses of the new company—the application scenarios of energy storage technology have gradually expanded from traditional scenarios such as power grid peak regulation and supporting facilities for new energy power generationto diversified scenarios including on-board energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, and zero-carbon parks.
The establishment of this joint venture will leverage CATL’s technological advantages and Chery Automobile’s vehicle manufacturing capabilitiesto promote the in-depth integration of battery technology and the new energy vehicle industry,further expand application boundaries, and support the high-quality development of the industry.
