According to EnergyTrend, a string of Chinese energy storage system, sodium-ion battery and lithium battery material projects have recently secured investment, broken ground or started production across Chuxiong (Yunnan), Ganzhou (Jiangxi), Ulanqab (Inner Mongolia) and Lanzhou (Gansu).
1.5 Billion Yuan, 5GWh/Year Sodium-Ion Battery Project Launches in Yunnan
On March 7, Chuxiong Municipal Financial Media Center reported that the construction of Ningbo Jinglan New Energy Co., Ltd.’s 5GWh/year consumer-grade sodium-ion battery industrial park project has commenced at Fumin Industrial Park in Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province.
The project has a total estimated investment of approximately 1.5 billion yuan and will be developed in two phases. Phase 1 is scheduled for completion and production by the end of February 2027, and Phase 2 by May 2029. Upon full operation, the project is expected to generate an annual output value of about 3 billion yuan.
$15 Million Investment, Quannan Energy Storage Project Breaks Ground
On March 5, the groundbreaking ceremony for the intelligent energy storage factory project of Aoming Technology (Ganzhou) Co., Ltd. was held, according to Quannan County Financial Media Center.The project involves a total investment of $15 million (approximately 104 million yuan) and covers a planned area of 30 mu.
Invested and developed by Hong Kong Green Energy International Co., Ltd., the project focuses on intelligent manufacturing of energy storage products, aiming to build a high-tech industrial base integrating R&D, production and sales.Upon completion, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 500 million yuan and annual tax revenue of over 10 million yuan.
5.7 Billion Yuan Lithium Battery Anode Material Project Signed in Inner Mongolia
On February 27, the signing ceremony for the “New 200,000-ton/year Integrated Lithium Battery Anode Material and Supporting Project” was held in Shangdu County, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.The People’s Government of Shangdu County and Inner Mongolia Xiangfu New Energy Co., Ltd. formally signed the framework investment agreement.
The project plans a total investment of about 5.7 billion yuan. Once fully operational, it will be capable of producing 200,000 tons of lithium battery anode materials per year.
100,000-Ton/Year Lithium-Ion Battery Cathode Material Project Starts Production in Gansu
Recently, the commissioning ceremony for Phase I of the 100,000-ton/year phosphate-based lithium-ion battery cathode material production line project of Gansu Jinlin Lithium Battery New Materials Co., Ltd. was held in Lanzhou New Area.
The project covers a total area of 363 mu with a total investment of 3.135 billion yuan, and will be constructed in two phases of 100,000 tons each.Phase I, a 100,000-ton/year lithium iron phosphate (LFP) production line, broke ground in April 2024 and officially started production after more than one year of construction.Phase II of the 100,000-ton/year LFP production line is scheduled to start construction in March 2026.
