Recently, both upstream and downstream sectors of the lithium battery and energy storage industry chain have continued to advance their capacity layouts and project implementations. Notably, Phase II of the CORNEX Yichang Battery Industrial Park has been fully topped out; EVE Energy's 10GWh power and energy storage battery project in Yuxi has entered the public notification stage for planning approval; and Ronbay Technology plans to invest approximately 4.3 billion yuan to expand its production capacity for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) precursors and cathode materials.
CORNEX: Phase II of Yichang Lithium Battery Industrial Park Project Fully Topped Out
According to an April 13 announcement from "Yiling Release," Phase II of the Yichang CORNEX Science and Technology Park project, located in Longquan Town, Yiling District, has been fully topped out.
It is reported that the CORNEX (Yichang) Lithium Battery Industrial Park project has a total investment of 60 billion yuan and a planned production capacity of 150GWh. The project is being constructed in four phases. Phase I, with a planned and designed capacity of 40GWh, went into production on August 28, 2023.
The recently topped-out Phase II project began construction on September 26, 2025, and will be fully operational by September 26 this year. It will primarily focus on the research, development, and production of a new generation of fast-charging power batteries, 588Ah large energy storage batteries, and module PACK systems. Once this project is completed, CORNEX will achieve a total capacity scale of 120GWh. After reaching designated production targets, the estimated annual output value will exceed 22 billion yuan.
EVE Energy: Yuxi 10GWh Power and Energy Storage Battery Project Enters Planning Approval Public Notification Stage
According to news from the Management Committee of the Yuxi High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the 10GWh power and energy storage battery project planned by Yuxi EVE Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of EVE Energy, has seen its planning permit application enter the public notification stage for approval.
According to the public notice, the project is located at the intersection of the Longquan Avenue extension and the Longteng Road extension in the Longquan Area of the Yuxi High-tech Zone. The main construction content includes a battery cell workshop, a formation workshop, a consumer AI battery workshop, a structural parts workshop, and warehouses. Supporting buildings include a power station, a testing center, and a comprehensive office building. The plan includes the construction of two high-performance lithium-ion battery production lines, multiple consumer AI battery production lines, and a structural parts factory. The production process involves the preparation of positive and negative electrode sheets, cell assembly, formation, battery packaging, battery Pack assembly lines, positive and negative cover plates, and aluminum casings. Upon mass production, the annual output can reach a capacity of 10GWh or more.
Ronbay Technology: Plans to Build Production Capacity Project for Lithium Iron Phosphate Precursors and Cathode Materials
On April 15, Ronbay Technology released an announcement stating its plan to invest approximately 4.298 billion yuan to build a production capacity project for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) precursors and cathode materials. Among this, an investment of about 2.007 billion yuan will be allocated to construct a wet-process project for LFP precursors with an annual output of 520,000 tons, while an investment of about 2.291 billion yuan will go toward constructing a dry-process (thermal) project for LFP with an annual output of 340,000 tons. The wet-process precursor project serves as a prerequisite procedure for the dry-process LFP project. Once both projects are completed, the company will possess an annual production capacity of 340,000 tons of LFP cathodes.
The company stated that the implementation of this project will promote the large-scale application of its third- and fourth-generation products and lay the foundation for the mass production of its fifth-generation products. At the same time, it will provide solid support to ensure the company's business delivery capabilities.
