Recently, project construction across various segments of China's domestic new energy industry has seen significant progress. Section II of the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project for EVE Energy's 80GWh super energy storage factory has commenced; Jiuxing New Energy's 2GWh semi-solid-state lithium battery project has entered the environmental impact assessment (EIA) public review phase; the construction of the 50GWh energy storage battery factory is advancing at full speed; and Rongna New Energy's hard carbon anode precursor project has officially been signed and settled in Sichuan Province.
EVE Energy: New Progress on the 80GWh Super Energy Storage Factory
On June 1, Section II of the general contracting project for Jiangsu EVE Energy's high-specific-energy large prismatic super energy storage factory officially broke ground.
Located in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, the project involves a total investment of 5 billion RMB. It covers a total construction area of approximately 166,000 square meters and has a scheduled construction period of 266 days. Once fully completed and put into operation, the facility will achieve an annual production capacity of 30GWh for MB36 lithium iron phosphate (LFP) energy storage batteries and 50GWh for LF702S LFP energy storage batteries.
Jiuxing New Energy: Approval Notification for the 2GWh High-Rate Semi-Solid-State Lithium Battery Project
On May 29, the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for Jiangsu Jiuxing New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.'s 2GWh high-rate semi-solid-state lithium battery project was officially published for public approval review.
This project is located in the Huai'an High-Tech Industrial Development Zone within Huaiyin District, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province. With a total investment of 1 billion RMB, the facility will achieve an annual production scale of 2GWh of high-rate semi-solid-state lithium batteries upon completion.
50GWh Energy Storage Smart Battery Factory Project Advancing at Full Speed
Recently, the 50GWh energy storage smart battery factory project, located in the Zero-Carbon Industrial Park in Ejin Horo Banner, Ordos, has been accelerating its construction efforts.
As of now, the underground construction procedures for the project's 24 individual buildings have all concluded. The foundation construction has reached a 100% completion rate, marking a comprehensive transition into the main structure phase. Notably, the steel structure installation for the core factory building has exceeded 30% completion. The first-floor concrete pouring for the No. 2 PACK workshop is over 85% finished. Furthermore, the main structural progress for supporting buildings, such as the testing center and power center, has surpassed 85%, while auxiliary buildings like the comprehensive building are basically completed.
Rongna New Energy: Hard Carbon Anode Precursor Production Project Officially Signed
On June 1, the Guangdong Rongna hard carbon anode precursor production project was officially signed and settled in Fushun County.
It is reported that the project will leverage Fushun County's more than 200,000 mu (approximately 33,000 acres) of bamboo resources alongside the advantages of four provincial-level modern bamboo industry bases. By sourcing materials locally to produce high-performance hard carbon anode precursors, the project aims to provide core raw material support for Zigong City's sodium-ion battery industry.
This project was initially signed to be located in Zigong, Sichuan, in August 2024. Subsequently, on December 30, 2025, Sichuan Rongna New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established to drive the construction of this project forward.
