Investment and construction in the lithium battery and energy storage sectors have continued to heat up recently. Projects backed by enterprises and platforms such as Dynanonic, Tianlai New Energy, and Hefei High-tech City Development Group have successively achieved new milestones, spanning fields such as lithium battery materials and energy storage cells.
Dynanonic Proposes Integrated Lithium Battery New Materials Project
On June 18, Dynanonic announced that the company intends to issue shares to specific targets to raise total funds of no more than 2.9 billion RMB. The proceeds will be directed toward Phase I of its integrated lithium battery new materials project and to replenish working capital.
Of this total, the integrated lithium battery new materials project accounts for an investment of 2.4 billion RMB. It aims to add an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of next-generation high-compaction-density phosphate new materials. This expansion is designed to meet the growing demand of the new energy vehicle and energy storage markets while enhancing the company's market competitiveness.
Tianlai New Energy Advances Lithium-ion Battery Production Base Project
Recently, construction on Tianlai New Energy’s lithium-ion battery production base project has been progressing at full speed, with the main factory structure and supporting facility engineering being deployed simultaneously. Currently, the project is capitalizing on the peak construction window, making an all-out effort to achieve its goal of completion and commissioning within the year.
The project involves an estimated total investment of 5.8 billion RMB. Plans primarily include the construction of 12 production lines for 18650 batteries, 8 lines for 32650 batteries, 6 lines for 46150 batteries, and 6 lines for 50150 batteries. Once operational, it will reach a daily production capacity of 3 million cylindrical lithium-ion batteries.
Hefei PV and Energy Storage Industry Base Project Welcomes New Progress
On June 18, the Advanced PV and Energy Storage Industry Base project, managed by Hefei High-tech City Development Group, successfully completed its first steel structure hoisting. This milestone marks the project's comprehensive transition from the foundation construction phase to the main steel structure construction phase.
With an investment of nearly 10 billion RMB, the project is planned to be developed in two phases. It aims to build a modern PV and energy storage industrial hub integrating headquarters R&D, energy storage cell production, and supporting processing facilities.
Phase I of the project covers a construction area of 195,000 square meters with a total steel consumption of approximately 20,000 tons. The layout features cell production workshops, performance testing workshops, finished product warehousing, and dedicated warehouses for structural components. Equipment commissioning and production are scheduled for completion by the end of November 2026. Once fully built and operating at full capacity, the base will achieve an annual production capacity of 30 GWh of energy storage lithium-ion cells.
