According to EnergyTrend, the energy storage market has seen a flurry of newly signed orders and grid connection deliveries recently. Four enterprises — Tesla, Trina Solar, e-STORAGE and HYSEA — have unveiled fresh updates on their energy storage orders, covering key markets including the US, Europe and China.
Tesla Secures Massive 25 GWh Energy Storage Order in Europe
Per an official release on NatPower’s website dated June 23, NatPower has entered into a long-term supply agreement with Tesla covering over 25 GWh of battery energy storage systems across Europe.
Under the deal, NatPower will deploy Tesla’s Megapack utility-scale battery energy storage systems as well as its power trading technologies.
The first phase of the partnership will develop five projects in Italy and the UK. The overall program is projected to reach a total energy storage capacity of more than 100 GWh, with an estimated construction cost ranging from USD 4 billion to USD 5 billion.
Trina Solar Delivers Commercial & Industrial Energy Storage Project
On June 23, Trina Solar announced the recent completion of a commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage project in Tianjin, with 12 units of Trina Solar Potentia BlueOcean 2 C&I energy storage cabinets delivered to the site.
The project was fully constructed by Tianjin Jiazhi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. It is fully equipped with Trina Solar’s new-generation Potentia BlueOcean 2 bionic liquid-cooled integrated C&I energy storage cabinets, customized to meet the operational demands of a food manufacturing plant.
Canadian Solar Signs 381 MWh Energy Storage Order in the US
On June 24, Canadian Solar announced that its energy storage subsidiary e-STORAGE will supply battery energy storage systems totalling 75 MW / 381 MWh to renewable energy developer and operator Apex Clean Energy.
Located in Branch County, Michigan, USA, the project will be co-located alongside Apex’s operational Coldwater solar farm. Equipment deliveries are scheduled to kick off in early 2027, with commercial operation targeted for mid-2027.
Under the contract, e-STORAGE will provide a full turnkey battery energy storage system solution for the project, featuring 5 MWh SolBank 3.0 energy storage systems with lithium iron phosphate cells, power conversion systems and an energy management system. All core equipment is independently researched, designed and manufactured by e-STORAGE.
HYSEA Completes Grid Connection for 400 MWh Energy Storage Station
According to HYSEA, the 200 MW / 400 MWh utility-scale energy storage station of Linyi Huazhen New Energy achieved grid connection on June 22.
Invested and operated by Chenlong Group, the facility adopts lithium iron phosphate batteries paired with fully submerged hybrid energy storage system technology. All storage units across the station are equipped with HYSEA’s self-developed 5 MWh liquid-cooled utility-scale energy storage integrated products. HYSEA provided full-lifecycle services including mass equipment production, on-site joint commissioning and grid connection technical support.
HYSEA’s 5 MWh utility-scale energy storage products have been deployed in batches at multiple hundred-megawatt energy storage projects nationwide to date.
