Recently, orders in the energy storage market have continued to surge. Companies such as JA Solar, JinkoSolar, and EVE Energy have secured overseas contracts, further expanding their presence across European and Australian markets. In the domestic Chinese market, players like Hyperstrong and Envision Energy Storage have successively won bids for multiple hundred-megawatt-hour-scale projects.
JA Solar Delivers Multiple C&I Solar-Plus-Storage Orders in Italy
In July, JA Solar concurrently completed the delivery of two new solar-plus-storage projects in Italy. The projects serve a cold-chain logistics enterprise in Northern Italy and a quarrying and stone processing company in Sicily, respectively.
Prior to this, JA Solar had already completed two distinct solar-plus-storage projects in Sicily. One serves a local hotel with a 1 MW / 2.088 MWh storage system to directly power daily operations. The other, located at an offshore fish farm in Sicily, features a 1.25 MW / 2.61 MWh system to supply stable energy for aquaculture operations.
Hyperstrong Wins Bid for 1.2 GWh Energy Storage Procurement
On July 16, the contract award results were announced for the procurement of energy storage battery cabins and Energy Management Systems (EMS) for the PowerChina Hubei Engineering Co., Ltd. Jinta Baishuiquan 300 MW / 1200 MWh grid-side independent energy storage power station project. The winning bidder was Beijing Hyperstrong Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hyperstrong.
The energy storage system in this procurement utilizes 314Ah cells with a designed capacity of 300 MW / 1200 MWh and features the HyperEMS energy management system. The procurement was executed directly based on a shortlist specified by the project owner, Jiuquan Jinchu New Energy Co., Ltd., designating Beijing Hyperstrong Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. as the supplier.
Envision Energy Storage Wins Bid for 400 MWh Standalone Storage Project in Shanxi
Recently, Envision Energy Storage successfully won the bid for the Heshun Shenteng 200 MW / 400 MWh standalone energy storage project.
Located in Heshun County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, the project will be jointly advanced by Envision Energy Storage, Heshun County Shenteng New Energy Power Generation Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (SEPD).
JinkoESS Signs 100 MWh Energy Storage System Supply Agreement
Recently, JinkoESS (the energy storage arm of JinkoSolar) officially signed a 100 MWh energy storage system supply agreement with German renewable energy company Everyray during the Intersolar exhibition.
Under the agreement, JinkoESS will supply its "Blue Whale" series energy storage products to support the execution of projects in the German market.
EVE Energy Signs 4 GWh Energy Storage Cooperation Agreement
Recently, EVE Energy officially signed a Preferred Supplier Panel Deed (PSPD) with Akaysha Energy, an Australian energy storage developer and operator.
Under the agreement, EVE Energy has been included in Akaysha's core supplier list and will provide large-scale energy storage battery systems to support the deployment of 4 GWh energy storage projects in Australia.
NETC Powers Grid Connection for 600 MWh Standalone Energy Storage Project
On July 16, the Shandong Zhanhua Lubei Base 300 MW / 600 MWh standalone energy storage project—powered by core equipment supplied by NETC (Guoke Energy)—was successfully connected to the grid.
Located in Zhanhua District, Binzhou City, Shandong Province, the facility is one of Shandong's key new-type energy storage projects. NETC provided high-performance energy storage system solutions for the project.
Haier New Energy's 9 MW Microgrid Project in Thailand Connected to Grid
On July 6, the 9 MW commercial and industrial (C&I) microgrid project invested and constructed by Haier New Energy at its Chonburi factory in Thailand was successfully connected to the grid. Phase I of the project, a 2.1 MW carport solar PV system, was connected to the grid earlier in March. This overall grid connection marks the project's official transition into normal operations.
The project features a total solar capacity of 9 MW paired with a 0.2 MW / 0.5 MWh energy storage system. Leveraging Thailand's abundant solar radiation and unused factory space, it adopts an integrated rooftop and carport solar layout to comprehensively cover the factory's power needs across production and office operations.
