EnergyTrend has learned that on July 28, Contemporary Amperex Technology (Ningde) Sales Co., Ltd. completed its business registration and establishment.
According to public information from Qichacha, the new company has a registered capital of RMB 3 billion and is registered in Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, Fujian Province, located within the CATL Industrial Park. In terms of equity, Contemporary Amperex Technology (Ningde) Sales Co., Ltd. is 100% owned by CATL, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of the listed company.
The business scope of the new company includes battery sales, battery spare parts sales, sales of prime movers for new energy equipment, charging pile sales, sales of battery swapping facilities for new energy vehicles, marketing planning, and import and export of goods.
As of now, CATL has not publicly disclosed the subsequent business division and operational plan for this subsidiary.
According to an announcement released by CATL on July 24, in the first half of 2026, CATL's combined sales volume of EV batteries and energy storage batteries grew by approximately 60% year-on-year, with energy storage batteries accounting for about a quarter of the total.
CATL also stated that, judging from the company's current situation, the energy storage market will continue to maintain relatively rapid growth this year and next year. In the first half of the year, CATL's capacity utilization rate was basically saturated, and the company has prepared stock for relevant customer demands as well as advanced capacity construction.
In addition, in the first half of the year, CATL's domestic energy storage sales accounted for a slightly higher proportion than overseas sales, with energy storage systems accounting for nearly 70%, and 587Ah large energy storage cells achieving large-scale delivery.
