On August 7, a mass production advancement meeting for Shandong HiTHIUM Energy Storage’s world-first long-duration energy storage (LDES) integrated industrial park (Shandong Heze Base) was held in Luxi New District, Heze, marking the facility's official transition into large-scale mass production.
It is understood that the Shandong Heze Base covers a planned total area of approximately 1,200 mu (around 80 hectares) with a planned full-supply-chain investment exceeding RMB 13 billion, making it the world's first integrated industrial park dedicated to long-duration energy storage. Built to establish an all-in-one industrial ecosystem, the project encompasses smart manufacturing of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) energy storage batteries, module and system integration, new material production, and upstream raw material manufacturing—achieving end-to-end integration from materials and battery cells to complete systems.
Wang Pengcheng, Co-founder and President of HiTHIUM and Chairman of Shandong HiTHIUM Energy Storage, stated that construction of the Heze Base began at the end of October 2024. This mass production rollout was achieved two years ahead of the original schedule, bringing both Phase I and Phase II into unified operation. Once fully operational, the base will further enhance HiTHIUM's large-scale manufacturing capacity and market delivery capabilities for LDES batteries.
According to reports, the Heze Base features HiTHIUM's fifth-generation smart manufacturing line, fully integrating raw material processing, cell manufacturing, system integration, and delivery processes. The single-line production capacity reaches 15 GWh, with an automation rate exceeding 95%, while quality control throughout the manufacturing process is maintained through advanced technologies such as AI vision inspection.
At the meeting, HiTHIUM joined hands with multiple strategic partners to sign several key agreements spanning financial support, supply chain synergy, and project application scenarios.
Among these, HiTHIUM Green Energy and Heze Transportation Investment Group Co., Ltd. will collaborate on renewable energy project development, leveraging their respective strengths in regional resources, project pipelines, and industrial capabilities to jointly accelerate the implementation of renewable energy projects.
In the investment sector, HiTHIUM Green Energy reached a partnership with Zhuhai Huiyin Deqing Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd. The two parties will pursue investment opportunities across the renewable energy supply chain, injecting capital and industry resources through industrial funds and equity investments to jointly promote the development and construction of high-quality renewable energy projects.
Additionally, HiTHIUM Green Energy signed a cooperation agreement with PowerChina Jiangxi Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. to collaborate in the engineering and construction of renewable energy projects. Capitalizing on PowerChina Jiangxi's expertise in power engineering construction, technical services, and project execution, both sides will jointly boost construction efficiency and drive the rollout of related projects.
As the Heze Base enters the mass production stage, HiTHIUM’s industrial footprint in long-duration energy storage is accelerating further. By advancing both capacity building and ecosystem synergies, the company will continue to refine its full-chain layout—spanning battery manufacturing to project development, construction, and real-world application—speeding up the large-scale deployment of long-duration energy storage.
