On September 24, ProLogium and Mercedes-Benz signed a joint testing agreement. Under the agreement, Mercedes-Benz will secure priority testing rights for ProLogium's latest 4th-generation superfluidized inorganic solid-state batteries (Gen4 lithium-ceramic batteries). The automaker will conduct electrical, thermal, and safety tests on the relevant cells to evaluate the feasibility of their future application in vehicles.
According to ProLogium, the Gen4 battery utilizes an all-inorganic superfluidized electrolyte system, combined with non-flammable inorganic electrolytes, ceramic separators, and active safety mechanisms. The goal is to achieve a balance among safety, energy density, rate capability, low-temperature performance, and fast-charging capabilities, while simultaneously taking into account scalable manufacturing and cost.
This testing marks the continuation of a nearly decade-long collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and ProLogium. The two parties have been partnering on solid-state battery technology since 2016, with the scope of their cooperation gradually expanding from early-stage cell development and validation to exploring various lithium-ceramic battery formats and technology roadmaps. Previously, both parties had already validated pouch cells, next-generation prismatic cells, and Bi-Polar technology.
In terms of mass production, ProLogium stated that its Taoyuan plant in Taiwan has completed GWh-level manufacturing validation and can support C-sample production as well as demonstration vehicle projects. In September 2026, ProLogium also announced that its Gen 3.5 lithium-ceramic batteries had entered mass production, and its 185.4Ah large-format cells, certified by TÜV testing, achieved an energy density of 381 Wh/kg and 903 Wh/L.
Regarding overseas production capacity, the first phase of ProLogium's battery gigafactory in Dunkirk, France, broke ground in February 2026. This initial phase has a planned annual capacity of 4 GWh, with plans to gradually scale up output; the total long-term designed capacity for the entire project could reach up to 44 GWh. ProLogium indicated that this facility will replicate the manufacturing model of the Taoyuan plant in Taiwan to provide localized battery supplies for European customers.
Notably, ProLogium entered into a definitive business combination agreement with Translational Development Acquisition Corp. (TDAC) in May of this year and has filed an F-4 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to the current transaction arrangements, upon the completion of the relevant transactions and meeting regulatory and listing conditions, ProLogium plans to list on the Nasdaq under the proposed ticker symbol "PRLG".
