According to EnergyTrend, on September 30, three leading PV enterprises — Canadian Solar, Jinko Solar and LONGi Green Energy — simultaneously released their investor relations activity records.
Canadian Solar: 2 GW High Efficiency HJT Cell Factory in the US Put into Operation
Regarding the upcoming stringent energy efficiency standards, Canadian Solar stated that the new regulation will raise industry access thresholds and accelerate the phase out of low efficiency production capacity. Competition will shift from pure price wars to comprehensive rivalry over efficiency, quality and reliability.
Canadian Solar disclosed that its high efficiency N type products are now mass produced and commercially available, complying with the new standards. Existing N type cell production lines are capable of technical retrofitting. Line upgrades will be carried out in a phased manner based on market demand and return on investment timelines.
On the pace of industry profit recovery, Canadian Solar expects global PV demand to resume steady growth next year amid domestic policy absorption and improving overseas demand. Nevertheless, supply demand rebalancing is still underway in the short term, and capacity clearance will take time. Industry bottom out recovery will be gradual. The company aims to maintain relatively stable profitability amid cyclical volatility.
In terms of overseas manufacturing, Phase I of Canadian Solar’s 2 GW high efficiency HJT cell factory in the US commenced production in July and is expected to reach full capacity in October, with Phase II expansion ongoing. Its US manufacturing operations are run through a joint venture structured to qualify for local subsidies. For factory leasing, module rental income was recognized in the first half. With cell production ramping up, additional cell factory rental revenue will be recorded starting in Q3. Relevant earnings will be disclosed in future periodic reports.
For energy storage, Canadian Solar believes competition in large scale overseas energy storage goes far beyond pricing, with full lifecycle service value as the core. Leveraging its vertically integrated end to end delivery capability, the company extends its business to EPC, O&M and asset management. Supported by local overseas teams and service networks, it builds differentiated competitive strengths.
Moreover, as import policies for energy storage tighten in Europe and the US while detailed rules remain pending, the company will keep monitoring and assessing developments. It will mitigate geopolitical and policy risks through global footprint, local production capacity and compliance adjustments.
Jinko Solar: Cracking Down on Counterfeit Modules Overseas
On demand, Jinko Solar noted that Document No.136 has caused short term disruptions to China’s domestic market. Nonetheless, large scale desert base PV projects and PV enabled desert reclamation underpin baseline demand, while distributed PV brings incremental volume. Domestic module demand for the full year is estimated at 200 230 GW.
Jinko Solar commented that PV is set to shift from the traditional grid connection driven cycle logic toward scenario based rigid demand. Driven by Middle East geopolitical dynamics and PV storage integration, global PV growth is projected at around 10% next year.
In addition, Jinko Solar highlighted the proliferation of counterfeit PV modules bearing its brand overseas, which harm its reputation as well as the image of Chinese PV exports. The company has coordinated with customs and market regulatory authorities to investigate and seize infringing products. Jinko Solar calls on the industry to jointly resist counterfeiting, infringement and vicious low price competition, safeguard the overseas reputation of Chinese PV brands, and advance high quality industrial development and anti involution efforts.
LONGi Green Energy: Signed Energy Storage Orders Exceed 3 GWh in H1
Regarding industry anti involution progress, LONGi Green Energy pointed out that China has rolled out multiple policies to reshape industry competition rules. The new national PV standard, effective January 2027 and covering the whole industrial chain, will substantially lift energy efficiency entry barriers and accelerate the exit of inefficient capacity.
Amid prevailing price pressure, global penetration of Back Contact (BC) products keeps rising, with notable premium performance in distributed scenarios. LONGi said BC products have driven operational improvement, and its consolidated gross margin turned positive year on year in H1 2026.
LONGi reported that its overseas module shipments rose more than 26% year on year in H1 2026, with overseas revenue accounting for over 65% of total revenue. By region, shipments to the Americas increased by 36%, Europe by 34%, and Asia Pacific by 20%. The company also holds leading positions in Latin America, Southeast Asia, the UAE, Pakistan and other markets.
On energy storage business, LONGi disclosed that cumulative signed energy storage orders surpassed 3 GWh in the first half. Under its LONGi ONE full stack PV storage integration strategy, LONGi has launched a suite of energy storage products applicable to utility scale ground mount storage, commercial & industrial storage, off grid and micro grid scenarios. Multiple key domestic and overseas projects are under implementation.
