According to EnergyTrend, five enterprises including Jinko Solar, Trina Solar, Huawei, Sineng Electric and Apollo Power have recently unveiled updates on their solar and energy storage orders and projects, with assets located in Myanmar, Vietnam, Greece, Egypt and other regions.
Jinko Solar Signs Cooperation for Myanmar Solar-Storage Project
On October 12, Jinko Solar announced that it had formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement with SANDISOLAR to jointly develop an off-grid solar-storage demonstration project in Myanmar.
Located on Myeik Island in Myanmar’s Tanintharyi Region, an area without access to a major power grid, the project will deploy 20.7 MWp of Jinko Tiger Pro 3 high-efficiency PV modules paired with a 29.26 MWh energy storage system. Jinko Solar will deliver an integrated “PV + energy storage” solution for the scheme.
Trina Solar Supplies Vietnam Integrated Solar-Storage Project
On October 12, Trina Solar announced it has supplied a 3 MWp PV system for Corona Resort on Vietnam’s Phú Quốc Island.
The project adopts Trina Solar Vertex N 725W modules, supported by a 10 MWh Trina Storage Elementa King Kong 2 battery energy storage system. Commercial operation and grid connection were scheduled for mid-September.
Built on the resort’s existing 5.5 MWp PV assets, the Corona Resort project adds 3 MWp of TOPCon Vertex N n-type modules and the 10 MWh Trina Storage Elementa King Kong 2 energy storage system.
Huawei Supplies Greek Energy Storage Project
Helleniq Renewables, a platform under Greece’s Helleniq Energy, has completed a 100 MW/200 MWh utility-scale energy storage system in Greece — the group’s first commissioned utility-scale storage station.
With a total investment of approximately €50 million (roughly 375 million yuan), the facility uses lithium iron phosphate technology and consists of 56 liquid-cooled energy storage containers. According to ESS News, the project’s energy storage system is equipped with Huawei LUNA2000 series products.
Sineng Electric Begins Shipment of 1.1 GW Grid-Forming Energy Storage PCS
On October 12, Sineng Electric announced its grid-forming energy storage converter and boost integrated units have arrived at ports in batches. Full shipment of the initial 1.1 GW product volume will be completed before year-end.
The equipment will serve Egypt’s Nefertiti and Horus energy storage power stations. Upon completion, the Nefertiti project will become Africa’s largest standalone energy storage station by single-site capacity. Sineng Electric will supply 12 MW converter-boost integrated units built on its new-generation 1.6 MW series centralised energy storage PCS for the project.
Apollo Power Procures 1 GWh Energy Storage System
On October 11, Apollo Power released a statement noting that it signed a purchase order for Tesla Megapack 2XL large-scale energy storage systems with Tesla Taiwan on October 8. The order covers 260 units with an aggregate storage capacity of around 1 GWh.
The announcement states that the 260 Megapack 2XL units will be contracted and delivered in phases. The storage equipment is expected to arrive sequentially by the end of 2027 and enter commercial operation in 2028. The timeline is subject to actual delivery, engineering progress and acceptance status.
