On October 14, Guangdong Greenway Technology Co., Ltd. (Greenway) and Chongqing Qiulong Technology Co., Ltd. (Surron) held an inaugural delivery ceremony for semi-solid-state (solid-liquid hybrid) battery packs, which will be fitted into electric off-road motorcycles.
Greenway stated that this delivery marks substantial progress in expanding its semi-solid-state (solid-liquid) traction batteries into the off-road electric motorcycle sector. In addition, the company's proprietary dry-process all-electrode sulfide all-solid-state battery has completed cell-level validation, marking simultaneous advancements across both the commercial deployment of semi-solid-state batteries and the research and development of all-solid-state batteries.
According to Greenway, the company is already an established battery pack (PACK) supplier to leading off-road electric motorcycle manufacturers, including Surron and Talaria. Built on Greenway's proven automotive-grade pouch cell technology and enhanced through LATP (lithium aluminum titanium phosphate) oxide electrolyte modification, this semi-solid-state solution employs a hybrid "reduced liquid electrolyte + solid electrolyte separator membrane" system, thereby optimizing the conventional liquid electrolyte chemistry used in existing high-power battery packs.
At the cell level, Greenway's LATP-based large cylindrical semi-solid-state cells utilize a mature 34145 all-tab (tabless) design paired with a composite cathode, delivering an engineered single-cell capacity of 16 to 16.5 Ah. The company highlighted that this architecture substantially improves battery safety, boosts discharge capacity at low temperatures, and ensures cycling stability under high temperatures.
Alongside its semi-solid-state portfolio, Greenway is actively pushing forward its all-solid-state battery pipeline. Its dry-electrode sulfide all-solid-state battery has successfully concluded cell validation, retaining nearly 99% of its capacity after 500 cycles at a 0.5C rate and running reliably under an external stack pressure of less than 10 MPa. While prioritizing the sulfide roadmap, the company continues to invest in parallel polymer and halide technical routes.
From a strategic market perspective, electric motorcycles represent an application segment where Greenway continues to broaden its global footprint. Disclosures from the company’s H1 2026 earnings conference indicate that battery systems co-developed with Vietnamese electric motorcycle manufacturer VinFast achieved mass production and began customer shipments in July; meanwhile, products developed for African electric mobility enterprise Spiro commenced deliveries in the first quarter and scaled to volume commercial shipments across the first half of the year.
On the technical R&D front, Greenway's R&D expenditure grew by 21% year-on-year in the first half of 2026. These investments were concentrated heavily on battery cells and PACK systems, covering solid-state batteries, solid-liquid hybrid batteries, sodium-ion batteries, new types of all-tab large cylindrical cells, as well as high-voltage platform battery systems and modular BMS platform technologies engineered specifically for electric motorcycles.
Financially, Greenway generated 1.755 billion RMB in operating revenue during the first half of 2026, representing a 30.48% increase year-on-year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached 72.4826 million RMB, an increase of 101.24% compared to the prior-year period.
