From October 16 to 17, Jinko Solar Global Technology Day was held in Shanghai. During the event, Jinko Solar launched the Tiger Neo 5.0 module based on TAC ("Tank") technology, which is primarily targeted at high-end residential application scenarios such as villas.
The first batch of this product, an all-black 48-cell module, achieves a maximum power output of 510W, a module efficiency of 25.52%, and a temperature coefficient as low as -0.24%.
According to the introduction, the TAC "Tank" technology integrates Heterojunction (HJT) and Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technologies, combined with the optimization of the back-contact interconnection structure. In terms of cell structure, this technology introduces a heterojunction passivation structure in the P-region and adopts a TOPCon passivating contact structure in the N-region. Simultaneously, it places the electrode interconnection layout on the back of the cell to reduce shading from the front metal grid lines.
Jinko Solar stated that TAC technology can boost the maximum cell efficiency to 28%. On the module side, designs such as zero-gap layout and hidden busbars further enhance the module's efficiency and visual consistency.
The newly launched Tiger Neo 5.0 module features an all-black exterior design, primarily targeting applications like villas that have higher requirements for rooftop visual effects, module power, and conversion efficiency.
The company believes that different application scenarios have varying demands for module power, bifaciality, low-light power generation performance, and appearance, and that module technology roadmaps will further develop towards scenario-specific solutions. Therefore, the TAC "Tank" technology and Tiger Neo 5.0 modules are positioned for the high-end residential market, while application scenarios such as utility-scale ground-mounted power plants, commercial and industrial projects, and data centers will continue to primarily rely on the Tiger Neo 3.0 series TOPCon modules.
In addition, Jinko Solar introduced the application of AI in photovoltaic research and development during the event. As the global cumulative installation of TOPCon and related structurally optimized products has exceeded 700GW, the associated operational data can provide references for technology R&D and performance simulation. Jinko Solar is currently applying AI computing and simulation models to its scientific research processes to analyze module performance under different installation conditions and climatic environments, providing a basis for selecting technology roadmaps and improving manufacturing processes.
