Sharp and Fuyu Lease co-formed a joint venture for building a solar power plant in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. The 2.62MWdc plant has been completed, and Crystal Clear Solar, the JV, commenced operation on October 20.
The Fukushima project called “Sharp Kawauchi Hefusu Mori Solar Power Plant” began construction in the third quarter of 2014. It covers a land of approximately 47,000m2, and is expected to generate around 2,900,000 kWh of clean electricity per year, enough for powering 805 average Japanese homes.
Sharp will offer operation and maintenance services for the project.
