Henan Wan Ban Non-Chan-Pin (Agricultural Produce) Logistics Company (WBNCP) has broken ground on its logistics park in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China. The company plans to build a rooftop distributed generation (DG) solar system with a collective capacity of up to 60MW for the park. The DG system will be China’s largest one of-its-kind when being completed.
Zhengzhou City is one of China’s busiest transportation hubs, and this is the major reason why WBNCP chose to build its largest produce logistics park here. WBNCP will invest a total of RMB 10 billion in construction the 5,300-square-meters park for storing and delivering agricultural and relevant produces.
To make this park more sustainable, WBNCP selected Unisun Energy as its partner to develop a DG solar system atop of the rooftops of the buildings in the park. By investing into RMB 500 million, the system will become China’s largest DG solar system after its completion as its installation capacity will reach 60.4MW. This project has been filed by local government.
Unisun Energy is a Chinese investor of DG systems as well as a provider of clean energy solutions. The company plans to develop 1GW of DG solar systems in China over the next three years. Under the terms of its contract with WBNCP, Unisun Energy will be responsible for developing and designing the logistic park DG system.
This project will be separated into three parts and five phases of constructions. The first phase construction is to build a 20.4MW system atop of the rooftop of fruit and vegetable market. The second and the third phase are to build a 20MW system using rooftop spaces of aquatic frozen market and oil market. The fourth and the fifth phases are to build a 20MW system for rooftops of the unit for beef and lamb processing and storage.
