According to EnergyTrend, investment in China’s new energy industrial chain has remained robust recently, with a flurry of major projects signed and launched across multiple regions.
From Sanjing Electric establishing an industrial and commercial energy storage presence in Foshan, to South China Qiguang’s RMB 4.8 billion solid-state battery project settling in Zhanjiang; from Cangzhou Mingzhu expanding lithium battery separator capacity, to Changhong Energy building a high-rate lithium battery base overseas in Malaysia, and to Yaoning Technology signing the second-phase energy storage system project in Jiangxi — energy storage, solid-state batteries, lithium battery materials and overseas expansion have become central themes. Upstream and downstream enterprises are accelerating capacity expansion, technological iteration and global layout.
Yaoning Technology Signs Second-Phase Jiangxi Energy Storage System Project
According to Lisiner, on March 25, the signing ceremony for the second-phase energy storage system project of Yaoning Technology Group in Jiangxi was held in Hangzhou. The Administrative Committee of Yujiang Industrial Park in Jiangxi, Yingtan Yujiang Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Yaoning Technology Group and its subsidiary Jiangxi Lixing Energy Technology Co., Ltd. jointly signed the cooperation agreement.
As Lisiner’s core intelligent manufacturing base, upon full production of the second-phase Jiangxi energy storage system project of Yaoning Technology Group, the total capacity of Lisiner’s Yingtan intelligent manufacturing base will reach 16GWh.
Public information shows that Lisiner has completed the layout of three major intelligent manufacturing bases in Yingtan and Poyang (Jiangxi) and Yancheng (Jiangsu), with multiple GWh-level automated energy storage system production lines in operation. Its self-developed Yuanteliu® series energy storage products have been deployed in regions including Asia, Europe and Africa.
Changhong Energy to Invest RMB 1 Billion in Building High-Rate Lithium Battery Base
On April 3, Changhong Energy announced that its controlling subsidiary Changhong Sanjie New Energy Co., Ltd. plans to establish Changhong Sanjie (Malaysia) New Energy Co., Ltd. (tentative name) and invest in constructing a high-rate lithium battery production base project in Malaysia, with a total investment equivalent to approximately RMB 999 million.
The project is intended to be a fundraising investment project for Changhong Energy’s targeted stock issuance in 2026. RMB 803 million of the investment will be funded by proceeds from the issuance, while the remainder will be covered by self-owned or raised funds.
Specifically, the project plans to build one automated production line each for 18650 and 21700 series high-rate lithium-ion batteries, with a construction period of 1.5 years. Upon reaching full capacity, it will produce 85 million 18650 cells and 85 million 21700 cells annually, adding a total of 170 million high-rate lithium battery cells per year.
Sanjing Electric Settles Energy Storage Product Base in Foshan, Guangdong
According to Nanhai Release, on the morning of April 2, Sanjing Electric officially signed an agreement to settle in Shishan Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City.
The company will locate its project at Guangjin Science Park in Shishan, Nanhai, building a comprehensive industrial base integrating manufacturing, sales, operation, warehousing and logistics of smart energy storage products such as industrial and commercial energy storage systems and battery PACKs. The project is expected to officially start production in June this year, with an annual industrial output value of RMB 3 billion upon full operation.
After production, the base will focus on manufacturing industrial and commercial energy storage products, leveraging the company’s comprehensive strengths in supply chain management, intelligent manufacturing and overseas market channels to build an efficient and coordinated production and delivery system, effectively connecting localized production with the global market.
Cangzhou Mingzhu to Invest RMB 1.8 Billion in Phase II Lithium Battery Separator Project
On April 1, Cangzhou Mingzhu announced that its indirect subsidiary Cangzhou Mingzhu Lithium Battery Separator Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Cangzhou Mingchuang Lithium Battery Development Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise in Cangzhou, to establish a joint venture in Cangzhou High-Tech Zone for the implementation of a 1.2 billion square meters annual wet-process lithium battery separator project (Phase II).
With a total investment of RMB 1.8 billion, the project will construct four ultra-thin wet-process separator production lines as well as supporting coating equipment, workshops and warehouses. Mingzhu Lithium Battery will contribute RMB 1.26 billion, holding a 70% stake. Equipment ordering is scheduled for April 2026, construction to start by the end of May 2026, equipment commissioning by the end of 2027, and trial production in January 2028.
This project is the second phase of the 1.2 billion square meters annual wet-process separator project planned in July 2023 with a total investment of RMB 3.5 billion. The previously launched Phase I, with an investment of RMB 1.7 billion and a capacity of 600 million square meters, is currently under equipment installation.
RMB 4.8 Billion Solid-State Battery Project Signed in Guangdong
According to Zhanjiang Release, on March 30, a major project signing ceremony for Xuwen County’s coordinated development with Hainan was held at Lizhiwan Operation Area, Xuwen Port Area, Zhanjiang Port, Guangdong.
Among the projects signed is a 4 billion Ah annual quantum chip solid-state battery production line and industrial park project. Developed by South China Qiguang New Energy Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., the project is located in Xuwen Economic Development Zone, Zhanjiang, Guangdong, with a total investment of RMB 4.8 billion.
Centered on new energy all-solid-state lithium batteries, the project will introduce an upstream and downstream industrial cluster to build a complete industrial chain covering core component manufacturing, new energy vehicle production, energy storage applications, low-altitude economy and battery recycling.
