CSP in India Gears up – Industry Experts to Meet in New Delhi

CSP Today has launched the 2nd Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Summit India which will address the main industry challenges and provide a powerful forum for international and local participants. The event, hosted in New Delhi, will take place on the 12th and 13th of April at The LaLit Hotel. Companies from the whole CSP value chain, financial community, government representatives, key associations, suppliers, project developers and new stakeholders are expected to attend.

The conference will set out how to build a profitable and commercially successful CSP business in India. Leading experts including Abener, Acciona, Abengoa, ACS Cobra, Cargo Power, FAST, IFC, SENER, Deutsche Bank, Protermosolar, Ferrostaal, Hira Group, Siemens amongst others are already confirmed to speak. Strategies to create a sustainable sector and accelerate market growth will be discussed along with core industry concerns such as:

    * Achieving financial closure
    * Creating international and local partnerships
    * Supply chain development, component sourcing and Indigenization strategies
    * Land acquisition and state level clearances
    * Adequate solar recourse assessment
    * Technical advancements and capacity building  
    * Successful project execution, yield optimization and operations & maintenance

Maria Slough, event director at CSP Today said “The CSP industry in India is poised for massive growth and development of indigenous new revenue streams and this will be a shaping year. Yet, there are compelling challenges that need to be addressed during the first phase of the JNNSM, which means that fast action is required”. A spokesperson for CSP Today stated “this event was created to provide solutions to best face the specific challenges entailed by building a CSP industry in India”

The event organisers have announced that the Forum for Advancement of Solar Thermal (FAST) will be official partners of the event.  FAST will be using their expertise to discuss how to build capacity and expand the industry. Sponsoring the summit will be global leaders Siemens, alongside Tyco and Sun To Market Solutions in the focused CSP exhibition area.

In 2010, CSP Today attracted more than 2,800 people through their events hosted in USA, Europe, the Middle East/North Africa region and India, and is devoted to promote the evolution of CSP technologies and markets by providing news and an open forum for those who are shaping the industry’s future.
